Lots of clubs take advantage of this, this is why you will never be a CEO, let alone of a top club

Yes Juventus have profited from players going to them on a free recently and their squad of mercenaries were about as poor as United last season. Can, Rabiot and Ramsay all went there on free transfers and you cannot convince me that wages have not played a part in their poor showing. Top clubs with $hit CEO's. I agree that the clubs should shaft the agents. You are in cloud cuckooland again Vish. I think I would rather have Pickles running our club than you.

We have to sell him, what he does on the pitch next season whilst he runs his contract down and walks for nothing, is not worth the 50 to 60m we could get for him now!

If there are no takers then we should look at swapping him or tell him to sign the contract offered or we will freeze him out of the club. He won't get the money he thinks he'll get elsewhere and he won't be achieving the bonuses of his current contract with us whilst he if off the grid for the year.

I don't get how Mane and Salah have acted towards Klopp, Fans and the club. It can't surely be all down to their Agents?

Of all the options I prefer to sell him and move on. When players lose their motivation and the relationship breaks down it rarely works out.

I also think back end of the season he was terrible that might be injury or a blip but again it’s a question mark.

Yep you can't argue with that much really.

There is no way we can force Salah out in a move even if we wanted to to, he has the power now with a year left on his contract, FSG will not freeze a player out on over £200K a week, also I am sure Klopp will want him to play next season if we want to win trophies again.

Seems the way now that star players are letting contracts run down to move on a free, maybe transfer fee's will drop as clubs realise they will probably not receive a transfer fee in the future?

The way Liverpool operates is by rewarding good performances and offering new contracts well in advance in the hope of more of the same. It is fair to say that given their individual performances over the last 3 or 4 years that both Salah and Mane deserved more. But it's a team game and without Robertson and TAA supplying the ammunition and Henderson and Fabinho covering for those two going forward none of this happens.

Of course we could pay everyone what they want and have pay spiralling out of control and end up like United and Arsenal, no chance of a trophy and Thursday night football for the foreseeable future. Salah signed a new improved contract a few years ago and you have to congratulate the club for retrospectively underpaying him. But the future is not guaranteed of any of us in life and paying Salah £400k a week is not really good value when Jota, Diaz and Nunez would be getting less than that between them.

He is supremely fit but God forbid if he got a serious injury early in the season and his contract was running down how much would be be worth to someone else? And if his injury meant that others stepped up to the plate successfully why would anybody want to interfere with that? There has to be a compromise here somewhere or he has to be sold. Irrespective of what others have been getting elsewhere we must not be dragged to the place where player power and money take over.

I totally agree that we play to his strengths and he has been out of touch a little at times in the last 3rd of the season. He would not get the chances he gets with us at another club because there isn't anyone who can play with our intensity and keep that going game after game.

I would love to see 5 more years of Mo like the last 5 years because you know it will come with trophies but not at the expense of other players. There are a few clubs that would pay him £400k a week but for now long? 2 years? 3 years?

He could still be our highest paid player but on a 5 year contract on say £250k a week with a release clause to sell for a decent sum should a team like to cough up the readies. It sticks in my throat when I remember that the biggest winner if he gets £400k a week is Boris and his cronies in all that lovely tax money paid in full by us fans funding it all yet again.

This really needs resolving and if his head has been turned by Barcelona or any other club promising wages next summer isn't that an illegal approach?

If he stays then great but not on what he wants and let's have it all done and dusted before the start of the season. If he goes then great we can go out and get another player (or 2) now. We are going to 5 subs next season so I don't believe all our business is done and dusted. Want replacements? Go for Saka and Dybala. One costs a lot with relatively low wages and is English the other on bigger wages on a free transfer. Get them both !

The only possibility now that we have not agreed to give him the wages he wants (don't think we should by the way) is to put him on the transfer list. However, can't see lots of clubs ready to pay him his requested wages and the transfer fee. So most probably he will wait to be a free transfer and he is fully entitled to that, he would just be respecting his contract, there is nothing wrong with that.

You mean club should not sign free transfers? That's true cuckooland and by the way, a player leaving on a free transfer is just honouring his contract. Some fans really mix emotions with real life business which football is, but yeah, you can keep hoping to freeze Salah, let's see who lives in cuckooland.

We have also used this method, we bought Milner & Matip on a free, who have turned out to be an excellent free transfers, so we cannot complain too much when it is done to us.

I don't think Matip and Milner where one of their clubs (at the time) most valued $$$ players. We allowed Mane to leave to get a transfer fee, I don't see why we can't do the same with Salah considering we are likely to get more $$$.

This needs to be sorted before the new season starts, if he is not going to sign the contract offered then it's foolish to let him walk for FREE.

I'd rather he go abroad than remain in the prem. I don't see why we can't be reaching out to the likes of Real Madrid and seeing if they'd be interested in some sort of swap deal/s. We've been reported as interested in Asensio and Rodrygo in recent weeks, both hardly get a look in for Real Madrid as far as gametime.
It might be a good time for Nike to step up and encourage Rodrygo to come to us as they sponsor him?
