I suppose it's been downhill since the Glaziers took over really, and they had some frugal years. They went from the very top to finishing 6-7th and looking really poor. Unfortunately they'll always have the cash to buy their way back up.

FSG came to Liverpool in a bit of a mess and although you could argue they had a slice of luck with Klopp and key signings/sales, they steered us to the title and CL glory.

I expect most fans put up with them for this reason. Now we've reached the top and have slipped a little, patience will probably wear out a lot quicker.

I'm a little worried about the new season. Our rivals seem to be massively strengthening while we haven't really improved.

Konate is a good addition but our defense wasn't really the problem (other than the first few games with VVD out and a couple others) but our attack just failed to break down defenses game after game and when do create opportunities Bobby shoots straight at the keeper.

Unless we add quality attackers I don't see this being our year.

Totally agree. I think we need a strong and proven attacking midfielder to unlock defences.

Not sure we can keep up, we're lacking in the middle a little n next season must see the break up of the fab front three sadly. The one thing that gives me hope is perhaps Klopp's coaching n eye for a player over Pep ( who can just throw money at somebody ), Tuchel ( who'll go on to be amazing ) n definitely Solksjaer.

Would be nice to focus on the cups for once if we can't win the big trophies.

We can manage efficiently but sadly so do the clubs with the resources

If we want to compete with City and Chelsea, indeed the FSG model is not good enough but we could catch up with United if we keep on growing commercially, they still have a huge debt burden

Look at the ratio turnover to investment in the team utd vs Liverpool. Sure we are behind utd commercially but not much but we are dramatically lower than utd in investment in the team. Debt is irrelevant the debt is on the owners and the debt will be accounted for in the selling price / profit they will achieve. Nothing to do with the club yes there are interest costs but they are at record lows. I have never understood why united fans hate the glaziers but some liverpool fans give fsg a free ride. How would utd fans take to our starvation situation ?

I don't think you know what the debt burden is at United, it us on the club, it is United not only paying interest but also capital and not the owners, therefore reducing their cash flows. Without the leveraged buy out of the Glazers, United would easily be competing with the likes of PSG. Last but not least, we have about 300m of revenues to catch up United
