also in the 1970's they were fierce rivals to Liverpool with some titanic battles man united hate them too mainly due to city rivalry rather than football

The rivalries are beyond football, its red rose v white rose, this is City/regional rivalries also, where as when you look at say Tottenham v Arsenal, they are both London within a few miles of each other, so its based on clubs/fans rather than City/Region.

I think the PL is better for having them back, with all the talk of FFP etc, they are a prime example of why FFP was brought in, they gambled their future on success, like CL qualification, selling predicted seasons tickets/sponsorship in the future for upfront payments. Leeds must be the most dramatic collapses of a PL club which was challenging for the League/CL under O'Leary in the 90's, they had a great side with Ferdinand, Speed, Viduka, Martyn, Batty, Kelly & Woodgate, McAlliste, Wallace, Yeboah, Smith.

Their reputation comes from the 60/70's when they had some nasty players like Hunter & Charlton, an away day at Leeds was also notorious as they were well know for a Hooligan following, as most big clubs were then.

I remember the battles at Anfield but I was a child maybe 12 ish and it was right at the height of hooliganism. I was pretty scared but only time I was ever attacked was from scousers because I wasn't from Liverpool. But I remember the Leeds game being massive and the games were always very tight only the odd goal settling it

They play a weird system under Bielsa that the prem hasn’t ever really seen before. It apparently acts as a direct counter to a high press. Will be interesting to see how it fairs in the prem against us and other pressing sides like Southampton. I suspect the quality of our players will be too great an advantage for them to overcome, against someone like Southampton though, could be interesting.

I know Leeds hate Man Utd, I was at Anfield in 1993 when we played Leeds and the Leeds fans started singing clap if you hate Man Utd, so we all clapped, then their whole end started doing aeroplane impressions with their arms out, Liverpool fans boo'ed them, but that showed me how much they hated Utd, that they would come to a big rivals ground and have a go at another team!
