The one thing you can say about Klopp so far in his career is that his teams don't perform on the big occasions. Today was another of those occasions. I'm going to rewatch the Istanbul final to give myself some hope but I honestly dont see how we can overcome a 3-0 deficit against them

We out played them which annoys me even more at the result. Mane should of scored that chance he blazed it high. I lost all the respect for messi for being a dick asking the referee to book players and diving when anyone touched him. An away goal would of helped but I'm not giving up hope just yet. Let's go again at Anfield guns blazing because we got nothing to lose, we are capable of scoring 3.

Don't know about ya'll, but i was a bit disappointed in VVD. He hardly put in a decent shift. Second goal should've been dealt with, but just runs along side the players and don't go for the ball.

Don't agree with you, we did reach the final last year by beating City and this year Bayern away, which were big games. However, his team always show's that we have something missing like a good goal scorer yesterday or a good GK last year in the final or a good LB in the EL final against Sevilla. All those things are quite obvious to everybody, he (and/or the club) is a little bit late to sort out, it's always a matter of too little too late.

well today our attack choked when it mattered. Salah missing that chance felt like a bad omen for our chances

Sigh...the thing is despite playing well this season we are likely going to end up with nothing again (and in a few years no one will care how well we play - all people remember from 2013/2014 is Gerrard's slip and us bottling the title). I'd rather us have 3 absolute crap seasons and then win a major title in 4th year rather than having 4 decent years with nothing to show for it

Yes our attack choked because we had only 2 true attacking players playing. I don't know why Firmino didn't play and Wij is no replacement, in fact, we don't have a proper replacement. Hopefully we will buy one in summer, but then, too little too late...again

I thought the score line reflected the balance of play (and quality)unfortunately. An absence of midfield combinations and too many speculative pokes and hopeful early crosses for my liking.
We can do better.

Yes yes. The Firmino issue was strange.

This was one of these terribly important games when you could take a chance on a player only being say 85% fit. But no - he comes on late instead when all is lost. Why?

Either he is fit or he isn't.

Now it's an impossible task at home instead.

What Wijnaldum did on the pitch yesterday I don't know. It was an away game so he was again invisible!

I can really blame him as he was played out of position. He is more a DM for us, not Firmino's replacement. Maybe Sturridge would have been better, but I am not sure. What I am sure is we do not have a player of more or less similar level to Firmino who could rotate with him, same for Mane.

Only managed to see the highlights but don’t think we did too bad going by them. If Mane or Salah could’ve given us an away goal it wouldn’t seem so bad. But when you’re up against the likes of these it’s no real shame or surprise when you get beat.

Messi is on another planet to all but one footballer and he made the difference as we all suspected he would.

Will be interesting at Anfield now especially if we get an early goal.
