I agree under the FSG model there is no way the club could develop a new stadium. It's simply not going to happen ever. The only hope is new owners but even then we are probably too far down the road of developing anfield. However no one can stop me dreaming of that because long term I think it will hold the club back.
I agree under the FSG model it won't happen, under most business models it will not happen, as it just does not add up as being good business, a new stadium is a great asset, if you have the means to deliver it and deliver on the pitch.
On the pitch is the key area, so I do not see it holding us back, a huge following around the world will never visit Anfield, winning trophies is what delivers global fans/recognition, which increases TV revenue/sponsorship/merchandising, which drives money into the club.
If we build a new stadium with 62,000 seats, we will still charge the same ticket price as Anfield at 62,000 seats, so there is no real business benefit to delivering a new stadium, if Anfield was stuck at 40,000 with no option to expand (like Everton), then we would just have to take the risk and build a new stadium and probably give up competing on the pitch/for the best players for a long time while we pay for the new stadium, like Arsenal have and Tottenham probably will.
Dream away, I hope your dreams come true!
