To be honest, i don't think that either is the answer.

I look at the academy and i see a lot of potential there. But potential is more often than not lost in the transition between teenager and adult. It's only a few young players who ever make it so while we'll always dig up the odd Fowler and Owen to go with the Abletts and Warnocks, it's never been a reliable source of first team talent.

The problem that i have with foreign players is that they play the game at a slower pace in a less physical league. Again, it's a lottery as to whether the player fully adapts to the rigours of the PL, not to mention the cold weather.

I truly believe that the way forward is to re-adopt Shankly's methods of scouring the lower leagues for talented 20/21 year old players who have made first team appearances, sticking them in the reserves until they've learned the Liverpool system of play. You then have home grown young talent which has cost next to nothing. You then use the money saved to fill the gaps and sign established players such as we did when we signed Dalglish.

You and your water.......

Is this another way of saying that you're incontinent?

Could be but I rather stick with "me water" sounds less rude.

That falls down on two fronts though;

First off players of 20/21 don't want to be stuck in the reserves for a couple of seasons and would therefore rather go to a club like Wolves or Bolton were they will play and then be bought by one of the bigger clubs. There is always the potential to loan a player out (Jack Wilshere) but that can't really be done on a grand scale

Secondly the good players generally aren't at lower division clubs at 20/21, they have been snapped up by the acadamies at 14/15 and can then get lost

What we need is a 'B' team in the Chamionship or First Division that can't get to the Prem and can vbe used to blood our own young players in a match environment

Again, i'll disagree with you here.

Both Chelsea and Man Utd have young players around this age in their reserves which indicates that these players will forego first team football for a chance with a big club and more money.

Secondly, there are plenty of good young players still at lower league clubs. To prove my point, you only need look at the original 30 man England squad for the world cup. 15 of these players originated from lower league clubs.

I will agree that a 'B' side might benefit us but it's something Rafa looked into and it's not happening.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love it to be like that again. But I just don't see it working. Arsenal have that sort of approach and its not won them anything for a while. It would also take a lot of patiance which there isn't a lot of in football now from the fans or the clubs.

And you've hit the nail right on head. People want everything right now. They want big names to excite them. World cup stars. It all goes along the same line of thinking that foreign players are better than british players, just because they're foreign.

At the moment, we're playing a game we can't win. We can't chuck £20million at the team and expect success when other teams are chucking £200million at theirs.

not my preferred choice but still a good one in my opinion. if it's him then lets just get behind him and back him 100%.

I think every premier team is trying to improve their teams by a combination of everything thats being said. players are scouted from the lower leagues and poeople do pop up on everyones radars. but the sport is so big now all the teams in the premier leagues in Europe are scouting everywhere to find the next Messi for Peanuts. This means as soon as rough diamond is located all the top teams are bidding for them before theyve stopped wearing nappies! We have no choice in the appointment of the next manage, as much as we would like to have. But we do have to support them fully. Dont forget we were chosen to support this club not the other way round

So tell me, what's the best way to support the club because i really don't know at the moment.

Any continuation of normal support for the club actually does it more damage in the long term because of the ownership/debt situation. If we support any H&G appointments then we support H&G.

If we boycott the club, then we still do it damage. I honestly can't see the best way forward.
