We have also signed players on free transfers like .... Matip, Milner , Babel, Litmanen, Gary Mac, Zenden, Toure & Maxi so..... it's a 2 way thing, we have gained with those, we lost with Can, it's how football is now.

He really isn't much of a loss ,hardly stands out in a poor midfield. Got to agree with that. Shan't be shedding tears or losing sleep tbh

He's a solid, capable player that is likely to get better, and is becoming a regular for the world's best national side. I think it's a bit of a loss to the squad and I'm more concerned about WHY he wants to go, than the fact that we'll lose out on a transfer fee. Even with Keita coming in we were short of quality and numbers in midfield so he'll still need to be replaced.
And for those that they are saying 'drop him'...........just remember that his replacement would likely be Henderson! Be careful what you wish for... i would take a player who wants to give 100% to the team rather than one who isnt going to be that bothered

Henderson and Can, players who give 100 percent but have little talent. They hardly strike the fear in the opposition.

At one stage tonight I didn't even think he was on the pitch...he wants to leave so thanks and bye bye Mister Can.Liverpool will hopefully be stronger without him next season.

For most of the game he was really lazy. And a few times he decided to contribute. I don't doubt he can be a great player, but his motivation is zilch at the moment and should not be on the pitch. My impression is that the club has messed him around on the field during Brenda's days and currently off the field with his contract negotiations. Also we need a "bullish" central midfielder who wins challenges, stands on the ball and directs traffic, which can can not do or is not bothered trying to do. Unfortunately it appears that it would be better for him to leave.
