Yes I agree, Klopp is obviously a very good manager and will get the best out of whatever he has available, and that should see us challenging in this season without midweek competition. However imo he'll need a stronger squad and less problems in defence if we play in Europe next season.
As for maximising our full potential, I agree we can't do that under FSG constraints, including their propensity for selling off their best performers. We're more likely to be consistent catch up strugglers than consummate top dogs, unfortunately.
Like someone earlier mentioned I think the real test for a Club is when they are competing in Europe aswell as the League, Leicester have shown smaller clubs can reach the top without Europe so this needs to be our aim however I honestly believe if we ever did win the League we would struggle like Leicester have this season as we can't compete with the big boys and Europe too. I really don't think FSG will ever budget to win major trophies, if they manage success then they will take it all day but putting there hands in there pocket to get it is an entirely different matter. This season is Liverpool's only real chance of League success as you won't get another season when the big clubs City, United and Chelsea all have brand new managers at the same time and need time to settle, no Europe too, for me the one and only chance as them clubs will all be stronger and better next season...

Ha, ha, me ould Star-Spangled Banner, isn't it interesting how polar opposites meet at the equator? However Liverpool is no Leicester nor are we a "smaller club". Liverpool is one of Europe's true footballing aristocrats, and will remain so for many a long day to come. FSG are but a blip on the screen and when the time is right for them they'll take a handsome profit and move on. To put it another way the cream always rises to the top, and you can bet your bottom dollar Liverpool will be back there again.

Agree except that it is FSG who is taking us back there, a place we left 20 years back

yes you must be right like Huddersfield and Preston returned from there heights before the war, Wolves in the 50s, Leeds and Forest in the 70s and also Villa and Everton in the 80s. All these Clubs have risen to the top again because like you say my old mate ream always rises to the top and so will Liverpool. Just one thing any chance you can let me know how long it takes to rise because we are on nearly 30 years ago now, cheers mate...
