Nice read especially for SP and Gnp (if he understands) and maye Hercules. The plan seems to be working with commercial revenues 2nd without counting City. http://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/liv...s-ticket-prices

Yeah, good read, there was never any doubt about their financial management, as that is largely what they’re all about. I’d expect them to do well financially from this season’s results with the anticipated CL revenue and consequent increase in commercial income and sponsorship. However I’d be wary of our performance next season when we have to compete in Europe, as their cowardice towards competing in the transfer for top level players will show in our ability to handle midweek competition. As I’ve said since before this season’s commencement, I expect us to challenge for the title this season, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see us revert back to 5th, 6th or 7th the season after this, as they’ve shown they’re not prepared to make the investment required to meet that level of competition.

What exactly do you want them to do, we have a net spend of 35m p.a since they came, up from 10m, we were a club struggling financially, our fans cannot afford to pay more, so what should they do? Throw away money?

I don't expect John Henry to throw money away no. He is simply the wrong owner for a global club like Liverpool FC he has neither the ambition or the resources to run the club to its potential. If you are satisfied with third rate that's fine it's all opinions

They backed the manager in the summer and he appears to have got who he wanted and now has us sitting top of the table (even with all those midtable signings). As long as they get Klopp who he wants, that's fine by me. And lets not forget, Klopp isn't one for spending huge money on 'superstars' but more about buying the right players for the team.

If you are satisfied with third rate that's fine it's all opinions I don't know how that is 3rd rate, we have caught up most on commercial revenues, in fact, everybody but United which has taken too much of a lead, I think we will be 3rd on gate revenue behind United and Arsenal, mainly because Arsenal fans can afford to pay more and we have a good manager. Yes, it will be very difficult to catch up United (though their loan has grown bigger since the depreciation of the GBP, thank Brexit) on the financial front, but the others are within range. City is a different animal but their type of owners was never interested to buy us. I don't think we were ever richer than United even in our glory days, I am not sure. FSG have built a strong foundation for the next 15 years at least.

I expect us to end up about 6th biggest club in the country in the next 15 years, I think once Chelsea and Spurs have moved into the new stadiums they will be stronger and although West Ham are struggling to adapt to there new home eventually it will pay dividends and the lure of London will prove an important factor. I think in 15 years time our main battle will be with Everton once they move into there new stadium which looks to be by the Docks, Everton have been very clever in cornering the local market and the kids now growing up in the City mostly support the blues as they can actively get out and support them. Going to be very interesting the football landscape in 15 years time much like 20 odd years ago when the big five were United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton no City or Chelsea back then...

I don't think so, Spurs will struggle for at least 10 years with the new stadium and unless Abraimovich bails out Chelsea, they will have the same problem. Gate revenue will be less and less inportant (though now we have more corporate seats) and our debt is among the lowest + we have a good manager. Young home grown players is not the future but identifying young talents in Europe is. TV money and Commercial revenue will keep on growing and the more success you have with exciting football, the better you will be.

Throw away money? No, I've never believed in throwing away money, but I believe in competing across all fronts, if we want to be consistently at the top and competing for top honours, we need to do that, rather than only competing in those seasons following failure to get into Europe and when we have no midweek competitions.

Liverpool could move forward if Klopp brings a lot of success which is possible but only within the constraints of FSG we might improve from where we are today but not maximise our full potential that's the point settling for less let me put it like that
