Liverpool had one of the the strongest teams in both cups.
Say there's 90 clubs in league club Liverpool are in the top 6 clubs on quality and we took that league cup quite seriously so we were in with chance like we would have been with Rodgers.
Europa, I don't know how mnay teams there are, say 64 from the group stage including Champions league drop outs. We must be in the top 10 overall on quality. And when we beat Utd there was only Dortmund better than us. We also rode our luck a bit in the semis. So no miracles, Klopp did well with a competitive squad. We didn't win anything though, like when Rodgers got us to two semi-finals and finished 6th in 14/15 (not 8th like Klopp did after reaching two finals).
then how did we finish 8th in the league, not good enough squad depth? Inconsistency, new manager, injuries. We under performed in the league last season that's my point. yes yet performed to standard (in your opinion) in the league and europa cup tournaments? rodgers could not have made any more or less concrete improvement to the team in the time klopp has been here, the season after we qualified for the CL even though we lost our best player (we wouldn't of held onto suarez even if we won the league imo for various reasons) we went backwards, there was no contingency. at least the players klopp is signing if he were to get fired tomorrow we've still probably have assests in our team who could still grow under new management.

firmino - committee signing (scouts begged us to get him) practically non existent under rodgers milner - free
hardly genius from BR, can only really credit him for sturridge but did he have any affiliation to him when he was assistant manager at chelsea or was sturridge at city at that time?

Anyone seen RS after tonight's result? He won't appear with his player ratings until we get a bad result, and surprisingly he never posts when we win. As we all know, a supporter of Brendan Rodgers FC rather than Liverpool FC.

Bad result for Celtic the other day. Wonder if he now is posting on one (or more) of their forums?
