Tbf Gotze has looked like a chubby bag of shitt at the euros. yer right there but i would still take him at £20m over £36m mane.i dont think theres anyone who's very excited by the move. am more excited by him then i was with markovic and lalana

Well yes a step down in league position but a big step up in expectation Correct. I'll say it again, this is the big difference and why smaller clubs best players struggle at bigger clubs where they are expected to win every single week. Remember playing well in a Southampton side that finishes 6th is a good season, is that acceptable for Liverpool? No it isn't! Where was Bale playing before going to Spurs and becoming the world's most expensive player?

Where was Bale playing before going to Spurs and becoming the world's most expensive player? Obviously there will be the odd exception and using the world class Gareth Bale as an example doesn't prove anything does it? He is an exception rather than the norm.

Also in response to you how about this: Lallana, Lovren, Schneiderlin, Callum Chambers, Downing, Carroll, Downing, Benteke. All good players at smaller clubs with lower expectations, none of them have performed following big money moves to bigger clubs have they?

I don't think Klopp has to sign any player he does not want. But he obviously wants Mane. A pacey winger who scores goals. He does not want Mkhitaryan type player.

Again, just for a bit of perspective here, I saw this in the BBC gossip column:
"Crystal Palace have agreed a £31.6m fee with Marseille for 22-year-old Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi."
The price might be high for Mane but it's TV money and it will push the majority of prices up.

He does not want Mkhitaryan type player. but mkhitaryan still would have suited his style of football, if we take for example the interception stat, mane averaging 0.9 for southampton, very good (IF he can do the same for liverpool or eventually do better). mkhitaryian in the german league 1.5 interceptions per game, mkhitaryian is still a goal threat, and he's more of a creative player, even if he won't run with the ball and inject as much pace klopp is hoping mane can.
