I don't believe in all those negative comments made immediately after a defeat, nor indeed those extravagantly positive ones made after a win. We have some decent players, we need some more. No one, and I mean no one, including the likes of Barca and Bayern has a squad, or even a first eleven, all made of world class players. In Klyne, Lovren, Can, Coutinho, Firmino, Origi and Sturridge, I believe we have a very decent spine. We need to strengthen in several positions including goalkeeper, center and left back, and wingers. A prolific striker like Morata or Aubameang could do us wonders as well. I'd tend to agree imadk, except I have mu doubts about Firmino he hasn't shown any thing like being lLiverpool quality yet and is very inconsistent. Then with Sturridge isn't it a toss of a coin whether he's fit or not? Even Coutinho is a bit hit and miss. There's a fragility about this squad that is a constant worry rather than a constant source of optimism. As some other posters said I wouldn't fight to keep any of them, and that's just not good enough if you want to win the league and compete in the CL. I wouldn't mind getting rid of each and everyone of them if their replacements are the likes of Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo, but let's be realistic here..

Liverpool aren't ready or don't have enough quality to gegenpress the way klopp would want. If we signed morata I'd want him to play on the left of attack mid personally, okay forward position I don't totally mind, but he's quality no matter, and if he didn't perform as a top player for us (as redsforchampions believes we don't have any consistent top players) it would prove beyond reasonable doubt that the team itself has flaws, such as lack of creativity, lack of indispensable quality - quality that is going to lift other players to better levels, and is key/irreplaceable to the team. yet morata is meant to indefinitely bring that on his own?

Exactly even coutinho, a player whose meant to be in his prime, okay he's done great this season, but he's been inconsistent on the left - and I know it's hard to sustain a level of performance. but he still should be doing so much better, 8 goals, 5 assists this season in the PL in 23 appearances which is great, but he should be doing much better

We have a squad consisting of squad players atm - that's it.
When we had Suarez - ONE Top Class Player - everyone around him suddenly started to perform over their natural performace level.
That's what TCP's do to a team that has gelled together.
Look at us now. Fragile. No TCP. Fragile. Performances all over the place.
We have just for the first time this season stringed up our first 2 PL back to back wins at Anfield. In April. Unbelievably poor!

Our squad has got a lot of good players. If we can get some players that suit Klopp's tactics and have a bit more quality, we should do fine. No, we have a few good players and no consistent top player doesn't make sense to me because sturridge was a consistent top player, and you could argue has been fairly this season. I think it shows it's more to do with the Team, than just an individuals ability to make an impact, as there is no better player perhaps talent wise than DS15. In some time, a few seasons, a player can naturally improve within a team, find his place, and become more paramount. origi had started to do that this season, we had the right environment for him. DS is a very good striker when on form which is not the case, hwever, his decisions on the pitch is more wrong than right. Take the game against Newcastle, in the counter for their secont gaol, he should have passed the ball, he didn't, lost it and they went on to score. He does that a lot, not passing at the right moment. I would even go to say, he was benched so that he gets in Klopp's gameplan

We have just for the first time this season stringed up our first 2 PL back to back wins at Anfield. In April. Unbelievably poor! yes but why was that? not just because suarez was a brilliant footballer. It was a 2 way street interesting point about that's what a TPC player does to a team, I'd agree, but the team has to buy into that brand of football, and understand and can for-fill their roles fully - I think that's partly what you mean by a team that has gelled together. It goes back to what we've said about lfc at present, no recognized leaders in the goalscoring department or assisting other than milner, who has got 7 of his assists in the last 6 games. It's too simplistic to look at it this way on its own, as there is top class players in our squad, or players who can definitely develop into that.

... there is top class players in our squad, or players who can definitely develop into that. So which is it? 1. We have Top Class Players in our squad or 2. We don't have Top Class Players in our squad The answer is: We have NO TCP's in the squad at the moment. Fact! And that is why we are struggling to find consistent form, and why we aren't consistently good enough against top class opponents. If we add all the injuries that have occured during the season, it doesn't help that much either - and one drug incident as well. Just how much can go wrong during one season I wonder?
