Firmino was a player we were more sure about, I reckon. The stalling could be on both sides. Most people on here, I think, have some doubts about the suitability of Benteke. If we have those doubts, surely the transfer committee must have them too. If Benteke fails to live up to expectations there will be some serious recrimination. To me, Firmino plus either Berahino or Lacazette, looks a more promising pairing - or Firmino with Sturridge, if he ever gets fit.

word is that something was spotted during the medical... they're waiting for DNA test results just to make sure that he's not Emile Heskey in disguise!

No they don't. The only times when that has happened is when we have agreed to sign a player in advance (like when we signed Emre Can before the transfer window had opened).

Brendan probably has had a chat/informal interview with him. But I meant an interview for fans to see when he joins.
