The echo is reporting the signing of benteke will be finalised in a matter of days !
I think I would prefer bacca Over benteke ! No they aren't sixties, it's in their rumours section which basically means it's being reported elsewhere, by less reliable sources.

I would be very happy with Benteke. If it was out of Rondon, Bacca and Benteke, I would definitely take Benteke. He is the only one I've seen regularly but I think he could be useful for us.
I'd prefer him to Lukaku too (even though he is not even in contention).

I'd take Benteke over Lukaku. Seems to believe in himself more and think he has a higher ceiling. I've seen Lukaku recently linked to United, anyone have news on that?
Huge waste for me if they do that. Especially considering I don't see Everton selling for less than what they bought him.

I'd prefer him to Lukaku too (even though he is not even in contention). 32 mil and usefull he'd wanna be a lot better than that ! If he's the difference between 4th and 5th he is worth the money however much impact he has. Mind you, in my opinion £25 million should be the limit.

He s good when on the field and is a handful for even the best defenders, but as Sixties says, do we need another injury prone striker to chat on the bench with Sturridge while we slump to another 50 goal season? If we could be confident he'd stay fit I'd sign him, but it's too risky given the Sturridge factor, there must be someone else, be it Bacca or another. Costa has also been regularly injured but scored a lot despite. Not saying that we should buy Benteke but only that there are a lot of injury prone players who nevertheless make a difference. I'd better buy injury prone Costa than Balotelli, Borini and Lambert.

That kind of money for someone who at best is 'useful' is just ridiculous. He wouldn't be enough to get us 4th so wouldn't pay for himself either. Much better options than him obviously.

Can't afford to have our two main strikers injury prone we should not be looking at any striker with a history of being injured given our current situ with Danny Rules out pretty much every striker bar Suarez (unless you include bans for biting  )

But I take your point about Costa making a difference though injury prone, except to say that the injury issue becomes much more acute if you were to have two such strikers as your starting first eleven, which would be the case if we sign Benteke. Thats why I’d be inclined to look elsewhere.
