Please explain how this makes FSG good owners?

We are money making machine and will continue to make money even if we are mediocre, hence BR is safe.

What has that got to do with anything?

Yes he has money. But money cannot compensate for time difference, jet lag, 8-10 hour flight etc. he is an old man. Flying from Boston to Liverpool isn't the same as a 40min train journey.

He's saved us from two Cowboys and he's invested. We are making progress and he is backing the manager. The manager maybe the wrong choice. But he was the right choice last season.

What utter nonsense. Henry could have attended Steven Gerrards final home game.

Maybe he's waiting until he can travel just 30 miles to see SG at the Gillette Stadium, when LA Galaxy face New England Revolution away? whistle

Lovern has been terrible and should be judged. He is not that young and a professional player at a club like liverpool will always be judged to high standards -rightly so. Same goes for lalanna and markovic .

FSG & Rodgers brought Mario Ballotelli to the club thus severely lowering our standing in the game. That's a fallen giant signing like AC milan or someone crap like that. Last summer was such a great chance to cement ourselves on a perch but FSG and Rodgers nosedived off it. Its been a disaster no matter how u want to whitewash it. We were there, now we have an even bigger mountain to climb - no suarez and no real intent (i.e world class signings) .

Opinions like yours are more than welcomed by FSG - managing expectations..or now managing failure.

I was winding up to respond to that rubbish in the op, but these two posts above say it all for me. It's all about ambition and these owners aren't showing it.

Can't exactly call it a witch hunt really

Just a shame we've made progress and gone backwards since he's been in charge

His arrogance to not employ a top defensive coach despite our catastrophic per performances at the back is quite annoying

Hats off to him for getting us into that unbeaten run and introducing the 343 system

But failing to qualify in the knockouts for the CL, finishing 6th and losing out to villa in the semi final of the FA cup are just about forgiveable. That defeat to stoke on the last day was a real blow for the fans

My one main concern is that he doesn't seem quite up to it when he comes up against European opposition or managers that have a bit of nouse tactically... Hopefully the change in back room staff will change that going forward

Lovern has been terrible is the understatement of the season. It's like the man woke up one morning and forget he was a footballer, knew he had to step onto the pitch and tried to wing it. At his very worst he used to be nowhere near the ball in the box, quite a feat for a defender and had zero game reading skills, standing there looking lost with no one near him. He seemed to pick up towards the end of the season though and started breaking down opponent attacks like he used to. Hope he gets to his best.

Stop looking for the quick fix. Stop acting like Liverpool should be at the top of the league. Stop acting like 6th place is terrible. We have been finishing regularly outside the top 4 long before Rodgers was appointed or FSG were in charge. FSG do try to minimise costs. And that’s like 99% of teams. There are very few teams like City or Chelsea. One of the reasons why Barca and Real can spend so much is because their TV revenue isn’t split evenly like in the premier league. Nothing to do with ambition.

If you’ve made it this far well done. This is my opinion it doesn’t mean I’m right and I understand different fans will have different opinions.

All the managers who finished outside the top 4 have been sacked almost always in the season where they fail to get into CL. Benitez(who won CL, FA cup and consistently got us into top 4), Dalglish and HOdgson(exception being Rodgers). I personally think Dalglish, Hodgson as well as Rodgers are all failures and incapable of getting us to where we want to be. Also 6th place is NOT what we should be content with. This whole "we are where we should be" mentality just reeks of a loser's mindset - something evident from ROdgers in matches where we have been clueless.

You can't be successful doing the same thing and expecting different results. If we want to improve, we have to change things. We obviously can't change our owners, but we can change the manager and get some new players which is what most people on this forum are hoping for.

You say that these managers come and go and fail to get top 4 and then get sacked. Do you not think this suggests the problem might run a bit deeper than the manager?
