Exactly my thoughts as well sixties. I had this same argument last night with a mate then something dawned on me.

If this is the case then FSG basically want Rodgers gone and want him to fall on his sword rather than pay him off. The question is what does Rodgers want. Personally I think he want's out or if he was in two minds he should really want out now his staff have been given the bullet. But Rodgers isn't going to go without a payoff so where does that leave the club?

It leaves the club going into next season with a Manager that doesn't want to be there and owners with a Manager they don't want. If this is the case then what an absolute bunch of tw@ts FSG really are. They are putting themselves before the club in the same way that the Venky's have done at Blackburn.

I really worry for next season as I see NOTHING at all to give me any sense of comfort.

I think it couldn't be further from the truth: Rodgers was lucky to get the Liverpool job and will likely never get one bigger - and he's making a right hash of it.. he's been spared the sack by the skin of his teeth and he knows it, he's had his staff binned as FSG want their own people in given that Rodgers boys flopped.

It's last chance saloon for Rodgers or he's off the the glue factory, he wont get anything more than a WHAM / Newcastle type job after us - no doubt follow Moyes to Spain for a stint in mid table obscurity, about his level.

One possible scenario is FSG are keeping Rodgers because they can't convince their possible targets (Klopp, Ancelotti,..)to take the job. No matter what's going on behind the curtains, it doesn't look good.

They couldn't convince them because they wanted their stupid policies still in place. It was reported that Klopp wanted full control but FSG didn't go for it. Not sure how true that is but no top manager would work like that and I don't see FSG changing their ways after 10 games if they sack Rodgers. We'll be stuck with his new assistant as caretaker for the rest of the season until Gary Monk can be brought in!

Which newspapers or sites do you guys read???

I've never read anything about us being rejected because of our policies anywhere.. could someone please point me in the direction of all these sources???

I'm not saying any of this isn't true, but I haven't seen one single article either claiming this to be the case (I've not even seen anything in the metro or any other unreliable rag) It all just comes across to me as fantasy.

A bit on here about how he doesn't like the 'project'. There's a bit from Micky Quinn on it too but not sure how much he'd know. Could all be bull though obviously!

Cheers for the link!

It's a bit "Koptalk understands that..." but a good read and actually offers something to suggest we have a "policy" that's holding us back. Be interesting to see if any bigger media outlets pick up on it.

For me, I don't see why they'd get a top class manager. You look at player recruitment and our managers under FSG mirror those in being cheap or a prospect.
