Didn’t know CJ was a fellow Ireland’r, anyway theres always been a lot of peat in Ireland, a day digging turf (should read ‘cutting’) in the bog is the hardest days work you’ll ever put in, and I’ve done it a few times. So yes using ‘peat’ instead of ‘pete’ is understandable in the circumstances! Seamus Heaney Nobel Prize Winner often referred to bog in his poems, not that I”m a fan of his, let me pot it this way:

Seamus
With his squat leaded spade,
Where his fathers sweat has made
Of bog a place to grow,
He also dug to find;
Though not his fathers kind-
A crop that he could grow,
And reap his harvest, wrought
With studied reticence,
And honied abstruse thought.
But north’s bog’s are deep,
Where rock of ages keep
Tare from planted corn,
And a breath of native prose
On his comet’s pulsing rose,
Would reap a crown of thorns,
For an artist that is taught,
That whatever he may say;
Better he say naught!
On this alter bare and bleak,
He honed his speak no speak,
and won a clique’s acclaim;
For whom art and muse are mute,
In a wanton age of loot,
That dare not speak it’s name,
Save in abstract little riddles,
And little academic tiddles!

Yes that’s right derek, always loved Pat Ingoldsby, he spoke from the heart and put two fingers up to snobby nosed propriety, A different voice and a breath of fresh air, top man is Pat.

Yes, the Ingoldsby family are all brilliant in their different ways.

could see that happening, for Rodgers sake he would want to get that team playing football very very quickly. A few more average signings over the summer and a bad start will send people over the edge.

And rightly so KP. They need the business done early and the lot of them back in July early- drill drill drill game game game.

I would expect to see us hit the ground running like Japan's bullet train. All the tenacity, work rate and pace of The Suarez Season from game 1 or don't bother.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

I don't get why you're deliberately upping expectations to unrealistic levels. You wouldn't have said this if Klopp had come in. I think a fair expectation will be an improvement on 6th place (i.e. 5th or better).

I think he needs top 4 or seem to be pushing for it but i think with BR in charge if we are in the top 10 i would say that's par with him.
