I like Sahko tbh, could be a great defender if we had a leader back there.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

He captained them at all youth levels, but I believe Ribery is the current captain for France. He was PSG's captain (and he became so at age 17!), and he's been described as "a leader of men" by all his former managers. I think as his English gets better, we'll see more of that.

Why did PSG sell Sakho? they didn't need the cash, his contract wasn't running down & he wasn't reportedly unhappy...

It's Lloris who is the French team captain, Sakho was vice captain in the last WC, not sure if he will stay as Varane could have taken his starting place. Sakho was sold by PSG because he was not the best CB in the team, his main problem was that he was making mistakes too often, he could apparently not keep his concentration over the whole game.

They bought Thaigo Silva and Marquinhos who were flashier players. They were going for South American stars, particularly Brazilian ones. Silva was Ancelotti's marquee signing, and he replaced him as the captain and starter (and fair play, he was considered the best defender in the world when they bought him, and still is by many). They still had a place for him, but Sakho wanted to start and he wanted to try something new. Most PSG fans were sad to see him go, and many of them started casually following LFC just to see how he was doing.

Fair play, I wasn't sure who it was. He started most of the games in the WC though, and kept several clean sheets. He scored an important goal to help them qualify too, if I remember. Yes, he probably wasn't the best CB there at the time, as he was replaced by Silva, who as I said, was arguably the best CB in the world at the time, and is still hailed by many as one of, if not the best. The wanted to keep him, as he's still pretty young in terms of CBs, and he's a good player, but he was more ambitious.
