Oh well. Roll on January and let's buy a top striker and hope to save our season.

How about Balotelli and Sterling upfront? Could play Coutinho, Lallana or Gerrard behind them.

Well he needs to try something instead of Mario on his own.

Re VIsh mario should of been number 3 if he didn't like it go find another top club that would of took you other than us Desperados ! We need a class striker as no1 dannys injury probs means he's always going to be a no2 as he's not reliable enough so mario was either no3 or knock danny out of no2 that's what competion is about isn't it ? And I said umpteen times this would be happening to danny hence the need in summer to of top class striker and sorry mario don't fill that role at least not yet does he ?

Well, BR considered Mario to be at least number 2. He had lined up Remy for number 3. I was not expecting much with Mario signing, but this is Brendon's job or whoever works with him on transfers. The transfers are slowly becoming expensive in terms of value for money.

Apparently he broke down in training great player but does not look like we can rely on him as many forecast. Not great is it ?

This is why I was in favour of taking the high risk with Mario when it became obvious that we wouldn't sign a quality replacement for Suarez. With Sturridge you can always expect injuries.
The burning question now is: will we sign a top quality striker in January? Well first of all it's not the best time to be doing it, we should have done it in the summer, but preferred to arse around with cheapie's. Secondly with FSG I doubt if we'll ever pay the required transfer fee or the wages to secure a top quality striker. The only reason we signed even Mario was because he was going for half price and half wages in other words a high risk bargain basement signing. This carry on is quite simply unacceptable given that we're back in the CL after a five year lapse, you cannot compete in the CL or indeed the PL without a reasonable number of top quality players in your starting eleven and good to top quality on your bench, and we don't have that, I'm beginning to wonder if we ever will again.

The perhaps smarter idea of concentrating funds on key positions rather than scatter gunning so we had enough players for the domestic cups is a very open discussion my friend.
