I question whether their buiseness would survive without the overseas market and whether the local market would cover their expenses and make them a profit. As was posted earlier, overseas revenue equated to 3.7 billion last year which is 39% of the total income. You take out 39% of any business income and that business will struggle to survive. I don't think that the UK TV income would keep the business sustainable on its own.

Not at the level it is now but it would survive. Whereas with the overseas market alone it wouldn't. But maybe I am wrong I hope I am and you can bear more of the burden marko. It's fine for you, you have a package priced reasonably and you can watch Liverpool FC. In the uk more and more people are being priced out and I am not talking about the match going fans that is another story. How would you feel living in Belgrade not being allowed to see red star or being able to afford to watch them in your own home? That's the reality for millions of people in the uk. I am the only one in my family who has sky and I quick trawl of the pub Friday a good number of people don't they watch in the pub. It's a similar situation to the match fans more and more are simply not bothering premiership football goes on but behind the scenes much of the core business is being eroded away.

Who is mad enough to think that the EPL can survive without uk fans? This is not even an option, I don't know why you are talking about that only if you want to say that uk fans are more important. What you keep failing to understand is that overseas tv rights are already contributing a lot to the EPL and thinking that this is a subsidy is stupid (this is not an insult but a qualified fact as it is about 40% of tv revenues).

Now, if Sky is increasing the price, unless they are wreck less, they should know what they are doing. If poorer fans cannot afford, I say tough luck, there are millions of people in the world who cannot afford to feed themselves which is worse than watching tv (this is how the capitalist system that you love so much works). If you really want to go to games regularly and watch all games on sky as much as possible, I would suggest you find a solution for yourself instead of being jealous of overseas fans or others who can afford to go to games. This will help your wellbeing.

A half sensible post and half of vitriol and insults which is what we come to expect from our troubled friend

No of course the uk business will not go but I was using it as the basis for illustrating the structure which us that it is the core business. Overseas income is a supplement to the core business you could argue though that at forty per cent it's more than a supplement and part of the core business. That being the case overseas fans should take more of the burden. If the uk market continues to aggressively exploited then ultimately people will walk and that the operators will have no choice but to increase overseas prices or lose revenue. I love the phrase if you can't pay tough ! From someone who receives probably four times the uk consumer product value it's very easy to have that perspective when you are not in the front line of premiership footballs greed.

Where did I insult you, what the hell are you talking about? Didn't I not say that EPL without uk fans is not even an option. If you cannot pay, of course it's tough luck, this is all what market economy and capitalism is about, as a disciple of Thatcher, you should be aware of this.

Now, how much burden overseas fans should take (actually all your bitterness is about this as I rightly thought) is none of your decision, demand and supply is going to sort that out, especially as it is not a subsidy.

If it's demand and supply as you say vish the lower overseas price would indicate lower demand than the uk consumer, Agreed ?

If that's not the case and consumer demand for premiership football overseas is equal or greater than the uk vish then should not the price be similar ?

Many of the overseas fans are as dedicated as their uk counterparts and we are all fans together supporting Liverpool FC so is it not right we share the burden equally ?

Surely you can't believe that is a bad thing ?

Actually you could twist that and look at it in another way. What if we were to say the overseas fans are actually contributing to the local fans? You see, i don't pay anything for the local Serbian league on TV,which means i am contributing in no way financially to the Serbian league when i don't go to matches. However i am contributing to the premier league financially and helping to keep it sustainable. So i am actually contributing to the English economy.

Its a percentage game as far as the pricing structure of subscriptions is concerned though. Percentage wise, of course the uk has the highest percentage of paying customers. A lower percentage demand regulates the price overseas. With the popularisation of the league worldwide though, i fully expect the subscriptions to go up worldwide.
