Maybe Utd have proved that CL status isn't necessarily the way to get big players. Club stature must come into it....does that mean we have lost ours? What has stature have to do with FFP? We couldn't possibly have bought someone like Di Maria for £60m and £250k a week. Or if we did it would have been at the expense building a bigger squad. Of course we could have. We've spent a huge amount of money ourselves, but more importantly our wage bill has gone through the roof. We opted to go for a larger squad but we I think we should have strengthened the team. No matter which XI we put out, it is much weaker than last year and I don't see how that is going to help. Agger, Reina and Suarez off the wage bill = £400k a week I bet you anything that the players we've signed aren't on a total of £400k a week.

I'm guessing with those no.s but they won't be far off. So our wage big that has gone up massively is actually only about £130k a week higher when you take Suarez, Agger and Reina out of the team.

There is surely no way Manquillo can be on £50k a week, he has signed on a 2 year loan deal after hardly ever playing for Atletico Madrid, if he is on anything more than £20k a week I'd be amazed!

I also thought Balo took a pay cut to come here? I also wouldn't think that the reports of Lalanna on £100k a week are a bit off. But yeah, the wage bill may have gone up but only slightly.

which is exactly why LFC wouldn't go and buy players with £250k a week wage demands, they simply cant afford to with ffp

i dont thnk lalana will be on 100k. probably 70/80k

Didn't he cost £25 million or so? I would imagine 100k a week is around what he'd have wanted and got.

I've seen anything from 80K to 100K being reported (tabloids mostly jumped on 100K I believe). Difficult to know, but certainly hefty.
