If we had decent owners with the clout there would be no need to go into debt in any case there are plenty financing options even without them putting equity in if they would take a long term view rather than going for the quick speculative buck and leaving the club forever limited

Very worrying, sounds like his confidence is totally shot to bits and does nothing for your team as the leader either does it?

Also feel vindicated with what many have seen, too many introduced far too quickly. I'll be amazed now if he lasts the season. Sounds like he's struggling with what to do to put things right under this pressure, it really does.

I don't see a problem. He has no choice but to admit that things aren't going very well - to say that things are fine would be a lie and make him look ridiculous. Look at Van Gaal after Utd let in 5 against Leicester......the whole world can see that their defence is a shambles yet he comes out and says that they played 'very well'. Sometimes there is no point in lying or covering things up.

Besides, BR taking the honesty approach may well lull Everton into a false sense of security.....

I couldn't agree more. Only this morning, HSBC have written to me advising of a very competitive APR on balance transfers....

Who wouldn't like the best big name players but was that ever realistic? Looks now like if we hadn't have sold Suarez our summer spend would have been very small because of FFP. Our biggest problem this summer was having to add so many players to build our squad. Maybe next summer we can add just one or two.

Maybe Utd have proved that CL status isn't necessarily the way to get big players. Club stature must come into it....does that mean we have lost ours?

What has stature have to do with FFP? We couldn't possibly have bought someone like Di Maria for £60m and £250k a week. Or if we did it would have been at the expense building a bigger squad.

Of course we could have. We've spent a huge amount of money ourselves, but more importantly our wage bill has gone through the roof. We opted to go for a larger squad but we I think we should have strengthened the team. No matter which XI we put out, it is much weaker than last year and I don't see how that is going to help.

if and when we could field this team it would be as good as last seasons. in fact add a world class keeper to that line up and we are looking strong. lalanna looks a lovely player now he is getting fit

Controversial that one emp. I think he'll be a good player for us.
