Fair enough stan is a very good poster who I find very stubborn when it comes to the stadium debate. That's my one and only problem with him. That's because he's 100% right, so why should he surrender to a cowardly financial position which he knows will leave this club in the shadow of the Manks for a generation or more? The difference between Stanley and those arguing against him is that while he's an accountant he has the ability to see the broader landscape. While those arguing against him are not accountants but can only see the cost and not the value. In other words they have no vision and no ambition for the club, other than the safe heaven of timid short term financial security. What they fail to understand is that failure to invest in BOTH players and Stadium will almost certainly guarantee long term decline and failure. Why on earth should Stanely concede to such a miserable and cowardly point of view, whether or not it's pursued with insult, and personal abuse, as it clearly is?

To be fair hercs i believe vish is an accountant but with little knoweldge of the north west where as stan has a lot of knowledge I think there's a lot more to it than that sixties, and it has much to do with a sense of belonging and an emotional attachment to the club, the community and the city. It seems to me that Stanley is concerned with more than just a football game, he wants the club, the community and the city to progress and not be left behind by a short sighted failure to invest, and he understands that failure to keep abreast of our main competitors in stadium terms, will give them a vital edge over us. I for one fully agree with him, and I have to say I admire the way he has conducted this debate without sinking to the level of abuse that's being used against him.

He's 100% right in your opinion but not in the opinion of myself and several others As has been pointed out many, many times, a new build would put onerous strain on the short term funding for transfers and would more than likely result in a fall off in success on the pitch which is most important.

To be fair an account would have no clue whatsoever about the environmental, ethical or cultural value of such an endeavour. He would know purely the financial aspect and his subjective feeling and he cant agree on the financial aspect with another accountant. This just shows how complex this issue is.
To claim he is 100% right is just downright false though. It is subjective and that's all she wrote.

I suppose that makes it alright though... No I didn't say that, and I don't think it's right. However we're all human and provocation can degrade us all. I'm very inclined to bring my guns along in debate myself too, and have to try and guard against overkill all the time. However there's a lot of personal stuff being thrown at Stanley in this stadium debate that's over the top imo.
