What? So you don't need financing either through equity or debt for normal trading? Investment doesn't only mean building/construction, a business also needs investment even for working capital and players are reported as assets on football clubs balance sheet. The equity (in fact most was quasi equity such as non interest bearing shareholder loans) was mainly for the purchase of the main asset, ie players, the money is not sitting in the LFC bank account. Most of Abramovich's investment you gloat about was for the same purpose

Lord sugar was on talksport tonight talking about the rumours of Tottenham being bought for £1b. He says it total nonsense and went on to say not one billionaire in the world has ever or will ever buy a football club and finance a new £350m stadium from their own pocket. Categorically states that it's never happened in world football and never will.

Says city's owners bought them because they already had a stadium given to them by Manchester council. Says and new stadium chelsea get would be financed by selling the bridge.

According to him the only way a club could get a new stadium is to take out a long term 20-30 year loan and repay it like any other mortgage.

Another guy was on talksport after Sugar sagingnthe same thing but he also said that not many very rich people are currently investing in new fields of interest because the world is still not financially very stable. So all this talk of let's just get a billionaire to buy our club and build a huge new stadium and lower ticket prices is dead.

Ok guys, let's calm down. He has his opinion and some of us disagree. He's still a good poster. Let's be level headed.

Fair enough stan is a very good poster who I find very stubborn when it comes to the stadium debate. That's my one and only problem with him.

Nothing against the match fan, but personally i think the atmosphere has been quite boring lately and i think what had the most to do with our televsion viewesrhip and the fact we were the most televised was our style of play and goals galore. That is what made us so exciting to watch last season, not the fans...well in my opinion.

It was our exquisite football, in summary, not the atmosphere at Anfield.
