This is going to be a really tough game. They now have a proper manager.

I say we start with two upfront and Marko in for Coutinho.

Its a must win game. Losing two on the trot so early in the season will knock the confidence out of the team. Its a big ask to win this one as Spurs are twice the side of last year and no Suarez to worry aboo.
Liverpool will have to boss the midfield to come away with a victory.

I'd definitely go for two upfront as it's the only time we begin to look there threatening IMO. I think Lamberts done enough to warrant a start upfront with Sturridge with Balotelli coming on for him at 60 mins.

Pete: Berg, I'm just not cut out to be a good person.
Berg: I know. That's why the Lord gave us good looks.

Markovic Hendo sterling
--------Gerrard Can------------
Moreno Lovren skrtl Flanagan

That would leave us with a strong bench including balotelli, coutinho

If flano is not fit then manquillo

I like the looks of that. How's Moreno's ankle?

am i the only one that is a little concerned about spurs?

Spurs will be very strong this season, they finally have a very good manager who seems to be getting the best out of Lamela and the likes. I am not too worried though as i think we are still stronger, but i feel united and arsenal should be very worried. I think those 3 will be battling for 4th and right now, spurs are my favourites.

I am worried. They looked very good last week, and they have plenty of talent. Arguably stronger squads than Arsenal and Spurs, and they are certainly a threat.

They were absolute garbage against WHAM on the opening day. Their only saving grace was West Ham were so blunt infront of goal, you've never seen anything like it.

I just don't see any reason to think we are a better team than Spurs, at this point.

They were woefully under-confident last year, and the management situation was a shambles.

I don't see Lambert ahead of Balotelli

I'd go:-

442

MB DS
RS JH(SG?) JA LM
Moreno Lovren Skrtl Flano

Subs Coutinho, Can, SG, Lambert (to come on early if MB looks off the pace)

I'd leave out SG for once because I think he slows us down

I'd go 2 up top with Mario being able to play (if fit enough) no real reason not too. It'll certainly give them a bit more to think about.

FFS we demolished them last year and even if they have improved, we should be able to win even with a one goal difference. I also thought that new managers needed time to settle. They have 3 points more than us and they will probably be competing with us for CL position. Of couse we need to win or maybe we should just wait until Jan to beat our main rivals. What's this BS attitude of not being too bothered with not winning? I would understand against a team like City where I would have taken a draw anytime, but not against a team we demolished last year and whose manager has just arrived.

Of course I'm bothered about loosing. I'm just not drama queening it up like you. It's the third game of a 38 game season. If we loose it doesn't mean the season is over even if it is to a potential rival for the top 4. They will slip up as will City and your beloved Chavs. There's a long way to go win loose or draw.

I do think we'll win though. Not like last year but just don't think they're good enough at the back. And they may have looked good but it was against a shitty West Ham and QPR. Not a real test IMO.
