Now that we have gotten over the euphoria of our victory over MU, it now time to focus on the next game, away at Cardiff.
Someone started a forum on the game between Everton and Cardiff. I did not watch the game but I read that Everton just barely won from the last kick of the game and Cardiff was battling hard in the game.
It will not be an easy game, they are facing the drop and at home. They will come out very strong.
Need to be really focus on this and not let our victory over MU get the better of us.
Our away record was not good until we won 2 quite difficult games on paper with clean sheets. The difference this time I think is that Cardiff will go for a draw and try to nick one if they get the opportunity, so I think we will have to battle it hard. It's not really a must win game for CL qualification but now the whole team are going for the title. Title winning teams must beat bottom clubs, so we should know how to grind results when the going gets tough. Everton just did exactly that by the way. I think we should be able to win it a point wont really be much good for either team so i can see both the teams having a go and that should work in our favour

Cardiff are comfortably one of if not the worst team in this league, they're atrocious. They have maybe 3 or 4 (if they're lucky) PL level players, and the rest are Championship quality. That's fine if you've got spirit, fight and determination but I'm not sure Cardiff under Ole do, and I don't think he knows what he's doing.
They have 6 wins all season (5 of which have been at home), but all but two of those have come against relegation candidates. They've had some decent draws, particularly earlier in the season, but the last two came against Villa and Sunderland at home. Their second top scorer is a centre back, and their collection of 4 strikers have 8 league goals between them. In fact, they have roughly twice as many yellow cards as they do goals.
In terms of recent form, since the turn of the year (during which time we're undefeated and have only failed to win 2 games) they have 2 wins, a draw and EIGHT losses, including being turned over at home by Hull and West Ham. That doesn't scream putting up a fight against relegation to me. They've had some difficult away games for sure but their home form during that period reads P5 W2 D1 L2. The wins came against Norwich (narrowly after being outplayed throughout the match) and Fulham (who are possibly the only team worse than they are).
The 2nd worst defence in the league against the best attack and most in-form team? Winning might not be a stroll in the park or anything, but a draw/loss would be a colossal [oops]-up for a team of our quality and ambition.

No, all those things is what defines where a team ends up when the season is over. Cardiff is nowhere near where we are, so unless we are very unlucky, we should be able to beat them.

Convincingly too. I feel a damned sight more confident than I would have done, say, 6 months ago. Defo bannana skin then.

This is now the most important game of the season. A win here is vital. City are home so will win. Chelsea or Arsenal (or both) will drop points. A win will set us up nicely for the 2 home games.
All the sides we play at the bottom cannot afford to play for a point. For them a point is not enough no matter who they are playing. It does make them dangerous and a bit unpredictable. We only beat Fulham and Swansea by a goal each despite what has happened in the last 2 games.
I have every confidence that if our tactics are right the players will do the rest.

We’re a 3 goal difference behind City, and this might be a good time to try and close that gap, as GD could well decide the title this season.
