Very positive game regardless of the result. They have thumped people there time and again this season for fun and they mustered a poor 1 goal victory with us without Sturridge or Gerrard.
Will stick my neck out and say that BR and LFC will inflict Chelsea their first home defeat under Mourhino very soon. Beating Mourinho's Chelsea at the Bridge? How I would like to see that though I don't have much hope.

Not so sure Vish and I'm as much a realist here as you Chelsea have been unconvincingly patchy all season and have been lucky at home more than once. They've been grinding out results without impressing much. Probably wrong but just feel it's time, and we are the team to do it

If we lose we'll end up the half season with 36 pts and could get off top 4 if Everton win their game, I won't be happy with that at all. Two seasons back we got 34 pts after 19 games, a 2 points progress won't be too significant IMO.

we played very well, and the 2 goals that we conceded could've easily been saved by either the keeper or the defence. we should do a quick fix for defending the set pieces. not much went our way in the match we had numbers of good chances to score but we were unlucky. the important thing is that we kept on playing well which is a big positive I think. keep on the good work lads ynwa. Yea quick fix. We have been conceding on set pieces for I don't know how long and you think BR will sort it out in 3 days. Not in 3 days but our hope is January transfer Window.

Obviously we missed Flannagan. Glen Johnson would have had a sitter but his 1st touch let him down. Sterling off side call was as criminal as the sitter he missed on a brilliant ball from Suarez. I think we generated more quality chances than City did in their home stadium.

My view was that Liverpool put in the effort, but Citeh are a class above in the middle especially. Toure, Silva and Nasri we boss.

Let's put things into perspective gents.
There's still a long way to go in the season. Unlike other games in previous seasons a defeat as such would have broken our spirit but this was a watershed performance. We were fearless and we actually carved them open more than any other opponent did in their backyard and to do this without our talismanic captain sturridge and two left backs is more than we hoped for. The teams were very much even for most if the game. Citeh relief was summed up by Kompany when he said we pushed them all the way. No other domestic team performed the way we did in their house this season.
Yes we came away with no points. Few thought we would. But we were close. The bad call for the sterling offside , if it stood, would have put us a goal ahead. What it did was give us confidence and we did score a beautiful goal. So in my mind it would not have mattered unless citeh had scored after that offsite. As for the shirt pulling, both teams did it and could have conceded penalties, it evens out although Skrtel has been doing it for many matches and naturally it is a concern.
Let's give credit when it's due - to both teams. Roll on to Chelsea. I'm interested to see a response. And Brendan was right to defend his players after that game.

ming has more than earned his keep this season, unfair criticism even though it was a flap.

A shockingly poorly officiated match (and yes it does cost points at this level) an unfit Sturridge and a goal keeping error, from a team that are a work under progress being built with drip fed investment. Can't see that much that a little patience won't fix Flames. This is Manchester City who put six past Arsenal in the last few weeks. Let's see how we go against Chelsea before we start throwing it all under the bus.
