Bad result for us but some conclusions while the game is still fresh in my head:

- Citeh for all their scoring prowess at home can be contained. Their 2 goals scored could have been avoided. Maybe double teaming Kompany will do the trick. Mig's howler was unfortunate. Hopefully he'll come out of it stronger.

- The officials were citeh biased. The wrong call on sterling's offside was scandalous. That was a game changing decision.

The barge on suarez by lescott and penalty call for the shirt pull on suarez could have changed the results.

- Sterling's pace will prove to be very useful for us for the remaining of the season. His runs and tactical awareness have improved and will continue to do so. Hopefully he'll develop into a key player for us.

- Skrtel is a penalty waiting to happen. I wonder how he consistently gets away with shirt pulls during corners.

- Sakho is a beast and has good anticipation. But he's still works in progress as he gets nervy under pressure. Gave the ball away in dangerous position on 3 consecutive occasions!

- Our movement as a team is good. BR has to take the credit for this. We managed to peg citeh back in their backyard. A draw would have been a fair result.

- Aspas is crap. Although he came on for 10 mins, he looked ordinary like one of our academy chaps. I'd rather have left coutinho on the pitch. I don't have high hopes for him.

- We could have nicked a draw or even won the game if sterling had not missed the sitter and hendo dummied for allen to tap home.

- If yahya and kompany stays fit, citeh will be hot favourites for the title.

- Our squad is a joke compared to citeh's. Forget about the title. If we can finish 4th, we'd have over-achieved. FSG needs to think hard about what kind of ambitions they want for LFC.

Lfc can get a top 4 finish only if ie

Fsg give br the ££ to sign the 3/4quality players needed for our starting 11/ bench

Br has to get his 3/4 next signing 100% perfect, no room for error or
All this seasons hard work will be wasted if the club finishes outside the top 4 and if the team starts to fade, drop points in the run due to no signings next month or poor signings, average players signed

best team lost....migs brainfart could have cost us the title. he has been nearly faultless but u got to question his suitability if he does that when the spotlight is on.

sad day , think thats the title up for us. chelsea will kick us off the pitch. hopefully we still in top 4 after new years day ..if so we can and should remain in it.

Hard for Hendo to dummy that really, but agree that Sterlings offside and miss and Johnnos miss were big. Overall though I'm happy and reckon we'll smash Chelsea!! No other team has went to City and performed anywhere near that level, we really put out a claim I think.

Our team is developing into a top team again. this game showed that we can play at the highest level but also showed our weakness at the right time just before January transfer window. our defence needs a quick fix , hope BR can rectify it in Jan. all in all we were unlucky as we played very well and couldn't get the result to go our way.

Nonsense. Absolutely no reason why we can't finish top 4 with the squad we currently have.

Not saying we won't or shouldn't buy in January but you need to give BR and the squad credit for what they have done and where we are. We are currently top 4 and deservedly so. Also have come closest to getting something off of Man City at home, but for an incorrect linesmans flag we would have.

Rogers has created a really good team spirit and it's not just about Suarez. Coutinho, Henderson, Sterling, Sakho Skrtel and even Allen are looking really quality players this season!

Skrtel clearly has issues regarding his own abilities as a defender. Chasing the ball or on the ball he is really good, but at set pieces and at marking players he is pure cráp!

Instead of trying to defend as he is supposed to do, he pulls shirts and reacts to situations, instead of anticipating and acting correctly.

If he continues like this we will either:

a) continue to concede goals at set pieces
or
b) start getting penalties against us

At least 3 - 4 of his shirt pulls today should/could easily have resulted in penalties for Citeh.

By the way: what's going on with Touré atm? Why won't BR even try him instead of Skittles? Is he that much worse in training sessions?

Something needs to be done about Skittles, and that fast!

Don't know about Toure I don't think he is fast enough but he is good to defend on set pieces.

we need an established defender in Jan I think.
