We really gave Citeh a run for their money today. First eleven can compete with anyone in he Premiership, but the squad has no depth as none of our substitutes seems to better the man he replaces. We really need to address the situation come January. Lots of refereeing decisions leave a lot to be desired as both teams could have got penalties but the Sterling "offside" decision was nothing short of murderous. I can't fathom why such referees and linesmen are allowed to determine the outcomes of such important games.

Should not have lost that game
A combination of referee mistakes and awful misses cost us

Need to improve the squad if we want to keep in the top 4 and/or challenge for the title
Need a top quality left back like what Johnson is on the right

And thought Skrtel was one of our best players actually, got a lot of important tackles and blocks in

Yes that part he did well as usual. It's his man marking and defending at set pieces that is so frustrating to watch.

"A Penalty Waiting To Happen" is sadly more or less his name...

I just felt that City was a class above despite the refree mistake on the offside. As soon as we scored they put pressure on us getting a number of corners scoring from one. They have much better players while for us, except for Suarez, the rest are good players not great players. We are paying one player 200k per week while half of their team is on that kind of salary, this is why they are title contenders and we are trying to get in the top 4. I think that City, Chelsea and Arsenal are sure to finish in the top 4 and there is only one place left for us, Everton and United. If we do not bring in reinforcement, we will not get in the top 4. Let's see how FSG can build a winning team.

we played very well, and the 2 goals that we conceded could've easily been saved by either the keeper or the defence. we should do a quick fix for defending the set pieces. not much went our way in the match we had numbers of good chances to score but we were unlucky. the important thing is that we kept on playing well which is a big positive I think.
keep on the good work lads ynwa.

My first conclusion is that the refs must have been paid off by Sheikh Mansour. There was a clear City bias going on. There is no chance that a professional referee can think Sterling is offside. He was onside by 2 or 3 clear yards, so there was clearly a pre-set agenda here. Even if we performed twice as well on the day, the refs would have made sure City won the game. A sending off or a dodgy penalty or whatever. Its sad, but we all know money talks and how corrupt football is.

My second conclusion is that this performance is a marker which shows the team has made incredible progress. No one thought we would be in this position at the start of the season, both in terms of points and performance. Credit to Brendan he has been brilliant to get the squad playing with such cohesion and purpose. It is down to his excellent coaching that he has been able to improve the likes of Henderson, Skrtel, Flanagan, Sterling and even Sturridge and COutinho when they first signed. Going toe to toe with City like that definitely shows LFC are definitely capable of securing a CL spot if Brendan gets the support and makes the right additions in January.

Very positive game regardless of the result. They have thumped people there time and again this season for fun and they mustered a poor 1 goal victory with us without Sturridge or Gerrard.

Will stick my neck out and say that BR and LFC will inflict Chelsea their first home defeat under Mourhino very soon.

Yea quick fix. We have been conceding on set pieces for I don't know how long and you think BR will sort it out in 3 days.

Did Sheik Mansoor paid in cash or bank transfer, for sure it won't be taxed though.
