John Flanagan has been playing very well at left back, I have been and still remain a doubter of his long term Liverpool credentials but there's no denying he has been in cracking form since coming into the side.

Yes, he’s been a revelation and could easily got man of the match on Sunday last. However I’d say he’s too young to be played consistently. I would definitely rest him for the Cardiff game, but his pace could be very useful against City, providing he’s able for the muscle he’s likely to meet. Looks to have loads of potential though.

Don't think he can play LB in BR's system where a lot of pace is required to run up and down the field constantly like Johnson does and even Flano has been doing and even scoring from cross not from a set piece. I think he could in a game where we will need to defend a lot.

I think this is a good evaluation of the situation. Whilst Agger has shown he is more than adept at LB, he does lack the pace and fitness to run up the flanks the entire game.

you won't get hamsik in return for agger and lucas in a million years, plus we are already thin in central midfield and we will need agger when skrtel goes awol

Yis are nuts agger has many seasons left, as has sahko and skrtel (who is very sellable) but toure doesn't. Keep adding quality to the squad not selling every decent player who's not playing everyweek

Exactly, we can't sell anyone in January. Just add hopefully 2, even with 2 additions we'll still have a light squad.

We just named him Vice Captain. Wouldn't make sense to loan him out 4 months after that.

Sakho is keeping him out of the squad at the moment. He would have played a few weeks ago but was sick so Sakho came in. I expect him and Toure to get some games coming up with the busy schedule.
