In days of old players went to any of the half decent clubs that wanted them, now its the other way around isn't it. The mega bucks talk loudest now because it more or less means competing in CL and large pay outs with names in lights quicker, footballers were always on good wages but these days its gone mad.

It's really not worth getting upset about. It's "an opinion" - that's all. To an extent I can see where he's coming from as well. If you asked most foreigners which English city they would like to live in, very few would say manchester or liverpool. They might change their minds once they'd spent some time in London but that doesn't negate his point.

Yes. Perhaps not a lot less but probably less. Not only that but he probably stood a better chance at making a lot more money in the future (had he stayed at Chelsea and became a first team regular), not merely including his wages but in terms of sponsorship and image rights etc. I've no doubt he'd have made more money there than here.
