Not sure, but didn't we play away to WBA last year?

Yeah but it's still an improvement.

it was really important to beat Stoke as games against Stoke, Everton, West Brom and Swansea's of this world are the games which will tell us more about our season, games against the bigger Clubs like United, Chelsea, Arsenal and City won't define our season that's why it will also be important not to get beat by Villa...

For once I agree with you, its important to beat these teams that are beneath us. Its these teams we've been dropping points to by not capitalising on our dominance and ending up drawing. Converting more of these games that were draws last season into wins will go along way to closing the gap to the top 4 spot

I was very pleased. Liverpool for the past 2 years have struggled with teams like these, and I for one am very encouraged to see us finally hold onto a 1-0 lead. Mignolet looks a good fit. The Villa game will be more telling I think. They gave the gunners a thrashing.

Hang on don't you think this is all a bit premature ?

I can understand it if we were regularly beating the lesser teams but we have won one game and that by the grace of god

well this just summs up people on this forum in general stanley, just think for a minute what it would of been like on here if Walters had of converted that penalty, instead of people attacking me for saying in the end we were very lucky to win the forum would of been in uproar with negativity, these are the margins us mid table clubs deal in, and the way it panned out it does prove we are mid table, if that game was at the Brittania the result would probably been reversed...

think its far, far more important to beat Villa next week if we can rather than United as stopping Villa stretching a lead over us has to be the aim...

Every game is as important as the next or do you still consider fielding weaker teams against the 'big boys' the way forward?

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Agreed, Villa look dangerous, and we struggle against strong strikers.

I do indeed think we should cut our cloth accordingly, I really think we as a club should concentrate on the battles we can win, there is no point beating United if we then lost a 6 pointer against a team like Villa, Everton, Swansea or a Fulham no point whatsoever as come the end of the season the games against the teams we are jockeying for 6th place will be the ones we look at that have defined our season...
