I agree, but by being a bit cleverer in the market we could be making progress and doing it in a financially sound way. I refuse to believe the only way to success is with a sugar daddy !

BR seems to be treading water in similar ways to hodgson, i'd still give BR the benefit of the doubt in that BR is 'new' to a pressure job whereas hodgson wasn't new with his experience at inter and the swiss team. Hodgson knew he couldn't do it, he even started of his reign by saying he couldnt do it.

Correction hodgson started off his reign by saying the team couldnt do it

BR will get sacked sooner rather than later i reckon, though i don't think it will help anyone, i can already see the "get him out" brigade massing.
Who would come in and what will it really change in any great degree, at least quickly?
I wouldn't be confident in us making any great strides any time soon with any manager, there is too much to change and changes in mass cause their own issues also, this is gonna take time but unfortunately unless progress is massively clear managers don't get time these days. Some that do end up doing more damage.
Its too soon to judge but then given how long we have been in the mire perhaps we don't have the time we would like as we fall more and more behind others and more out of favor with decent players.
One thing i do know is going back to the past will help no one, so please stop the calls for the return of Benitez.

Rafa would have ensured that we are much higher in the table now. But the owners refused to even interview him - thanks to their pool of nincompoop advisors.

Remember Blackburn Rovers ?, now the laughing stock of the footballing world.
You could call our position very similar.

Going back to Rafa would have had the same effect as going back to Kenny did. I know the 2005 hash pipe is powerful but he's regressed as a manager since then... and he won't be at Chelsea that long either. Expecting FSG to rehire someone as stubborn as Rafa is really naive on the part of many fans. He would have been divisive and domineering but worst of all repetitive... and I doubt it would have lasted that long anyway. Rafa had his time... and for all his success he still failed in the main objective... moving on was the better option.

He's not doing badly at chavs is he?

Rafa should be doing well with that squad. Do you think he would do the same with Downing, Henderson etc. as he is with Mata, Hazard, Oscar etc.

People seem to forget that Hodgson had people like Torres and mascherano. Rodgers had Carroll and Adam.

Give the guy a break. He is here for a while so lets back him.
