Oooooo i didnt know this till i read it just now in a sky sport article.

a 3-1 loss at Stoke on Boxing Day left Rodgers' men with 25 points from 19 games, the same record they had during the short-lived reign of the much-criticised Roy Hodgson.

by that reckoning, he has to go. plus there was more down playing of purchases in the transfer window which means either the owners need to fck off, or they have lost faith in rodgers and they have already given him the asgreed length of rope to do what he will with and so far he has emulated... roy hodgson.

Why do FSG have to go, just because they wont splash the cash willy nilly anymore after having there fingers burnt with the incompetent Dalglish, I dont blame them for being careful now, looks like there providing funds for Sturridge and Ince so where's the problem...

2:nd class players for a 1:st class aspiring club perhaps?

Or maybe their ambitions have fallen, or they still believe we could reach the top with 2:nd tier player material?

Hodgson wasn't FSG's man though. He was brought in by pinky and perky and was never going to survive under the new owners. Unfortunately they did a Newcastle and listened to the fans.

I hear what your saying but I think Hodgson was always going to go bad. Rodgers will be here until the summer unless we get involved in a relegation battle and even then I think he'll survive. And who knows. We may even end up getting fourth. It is a season of two halves after all.

Very interesting. BR also had pretty much a full pre-season didn't he? With the trip to America and £25million to spend. Roy didn't even have that luxury if I rememeber. He was working with Purslow, Hicks and Gillette before then having to deal with novice oweners in the form of NESW i.e. Henry, Werner and co.

In BRs favour though is that the style of play has been much better and the fact that he has blooded some youngsters.

As for FSG, I don't think they'll ever spend like Abramovich, the Sheikhs etc. If they're in it for the long term and want organic progress, as opposed to instant success, then all they can do is go through managers who are prepared to work on transfer budgets of say £30m per season until they strike it lucky. If that's the case, then it may be us fans who need to manage our expectations. If they tried to sell now i don't think they's get much of a premium on the price they bought us for.

He had most of his team out for the preseason with Euros, and the Olympics. Not easy to evaluate the team when they're not there.

Jeez that's quite scary - Roy actually spent minus 15 mill as well...don't think I'll think about that too much !

its all very well organic growth but its damn hard especially in todays premier league and its slow progress and depends on sustained progress which so far we have seen nothing of. And whats so wrong about sugar daddies ? all the game is is money today so the more the better i figure
