Think that's the only reason BR plays him there, cause we don't have that kind of striker, the ones we have are not experienced enough or are not yet proven. So maybe if we get a Huntelaar or Llorente type of strikers he might change things up abit.

I think ideally we would sign two different types of striker so we would have options and be able to adapt a different approach depending on the weaknesses of the opponent and complement the creative players like Suarez. I would like to see us sign a target man (Llorente/Lewandowski/Doumbia) to hold up the ball and play in the wingers/advanced midfielders and a poacher (Huntelaar/Rossi) to finish the chances we are creating.

I think BR prefers the idea of a fluid front 3 inter changing positions though which would explain the likes of Borini and Sturridge who can cover multiple forward positions.

Which ever way we go creative players like Suarez will always have a place in the team drifting in from wide or deeper positions to create and hopefully finish chances.

He's from up-side-down-land you know! laugh

I think he's right though: No need worrying about Suarez when we desperately need another quality striker up front. Not someone like Borini who clearly never will cut it in PL.

If we do get an out & out striker, then I'm sure we can find somewhere to put Suarez to make him play properly together with the new recruit!

Also what happened to 2 up front? Surely Suarez can team up with the new striker instead of one of them being pushed out. Any way like I said before, we need depth in that position, if there is no room one of them will sit on the bench.

Another question is who gets dropped from the XI if a striker comes in, will we stop playing Sterling regularly or go back to playing Enrique at LB?

(this is me assuming the striker will be apart of the starting XI and suarez moved to the wings)

I'd guess that Sterling will be rested more often and there will be rotation between himself, Enrique, Suarez and the one or two forwards we get

It would be a shame for Sterling to move onto another Club, I think what we offer him in terms of playing no other club will be able to match that he would want to go to. Then again if he desires the higher wage (50k?) then I don't think he is deserving of it at this moment in time and at his age shouldn't expect such amounts

Rodgson has always said that his front 3 should be interchangeable at any time during the game. If Suarez started on the left, at various times during the game he'll be central and also on the right - same goes for the other 2 forwards on the pitch. It's not a problem for Suarez. We just need to make sure that any striker we sign is effective in wide positions so as not to limit the mobility and flexibility of the front 3. The likes of Sturridge and Walcott fit this description. The likes of Llorente and Huntelaar do not.

It would be a shame to move Enrique back to defence - he just won or player of the month award asa winger/forward. The obvious choice would be to drop suso or downing. Downing is virtually useless and suso clearly isn't ready. Can sterling play on the right?
