I might get stick for this but seeing that I don't really see us pushing for CL this year, although it's not impossible, and with belief that our current squad is good enough to get EL football next season, perhaps saving money in January when player prices are inflated, the money saved in the last transfer window is not a bad idea. It would give us something to work with in the summer, the youngsters in the current squad will have gained some experience and then we could afford to spend in the summer and have a real go next season.
It makes a lot of sense to me. Bas the youngsters underperformed i skupe be singing a different tune but i really believe this squad is good enough to secure European football next seAson. I guess we'll see where we stand in January. But I would not spend Megabucks in January if I was calling the shots.

Marko you may get your wish, doesn't seem like the owners are too keen on spending any more in January which is a shame really as we are one or two quality forwards from given everybody a run for their money.

i think we'll still rely on suarez after jan, if we get anyone in january then it'll be more of a back up striker from the bench no doubt as borini has still to come back. So i cant see any big money strikers coming in at all.

But everyone 'doesn't' already know how desperate we are. In this country they do because BR is always harping on about it - but why would a team in a foreign country know our situation? Welcome to the 21st century Car. This new fangled technology you are using is called the internet and they even have it in other countries. Fool. If BR didn't announce that we were desperate for a striker then all the internet could report on would be 'gossip'. Do you think that the selling club would up their valuation because some dodgy newspaper or website says we want on of their players? Of course not. But now that BR has dropped his pants and bent over we can expect our usual bi-annual shafting in the transfer market.

The only person it seems that isn't aware of the fact that we need another striker is yourself. Also what a club asks for and what the owners are willing to pay is 2 completely different things. I think the days of us being shafted in the transfer marker are over.

Also what a club asks for and what the owners are willing to pay is 2 completely different things true , seems that under commollli they paid more than the owner asked for! I think the days of us being shafted in the transfer marker are over.

You are posting on here as if BR is giving away some big secret when he says that we need a striker.
Everyone knows we need a striker, even you.
Also I normally enjoy your posts but you are in danger of becoming the pantomime villain on here.
You seem to disagree with many posts purely for the sake of it (not refering to this one)
