Torres is no the player he once was. He has no confidence and his movement is poor these days. He even looks miserable when Chelsea scores and he was subbed after just 60 minutes yesterday.
his movement recently has looked good unfortunately you dont want good movement off your striker, you just want him to find the net. He's still scored more goals than anyone on this team besides Suarez. He won the golden boot a the Euros this summer. He can still score. For 15 million, I'd take him in a heartbeat. well why not bring back Michael Owen too then as he has as much chance of returning to his old Liverpool form as Torres has...

i think the team has plenty of movement at the moment. i agree with joecool on this, we just need to bag some more goals. huntelaar is the best option for me. even if we got him for a couple of seasons at 6-8 million, whilst other young players are eased into the the setup, i think he's the man for us.

It's all about balance. We are a bit too young at this point, so we need some experienced players to complement the current squad!

i think the team has plenty of movement at the moment. i agree with joecool on this, we just need to bag some more goals. huntelaar is the best option for me. even if we got him for a couple of seasons at 6-8 million, whilst other young players are eased into the the setup, i think he's the man for us. I'm definitely in the Huntelaar camp, yes he is old but we can still spend 20m on him and recoup it if we make champions league, its a no brainer to me, he is the exact striker we are looking for.

IF we go for Huntelaar we could get him for half that 20m fee at the most. 6 months left on his contract i say 6 - 9 million tops.

I agree that Huntelaar is the best choice. That said, I think we need 2 more strikers. If possible I'd like the two of them.

29's his peak so he's got 3-5 years left at the top. If BR wants him and IF he wants to come to us, but the owners refuse due to his age, we're in real trouble.
2nd choice would be Walcott as I think he'd fit in really well on the right, could be cheap outright and fits FSG's mould.
If he's really got 15m to spend, I think one of those 2 with a big signing bonus and the rest to cover increased wages is realistic. IF they want to come.

i disagree with that. i think we will fall short of 4th this season. for the forseeable future though? not so sure about that. we're on a good run and for all of the hype and praise that, at various points so far this season, has surrounded spurs/everton/arsenal, it's not as if they're out of sight.
i still think the addition of one or two strikers will help us push on. i don't think 4th is completely out of the question for next season for example.
