talk some sense will you they are, they are still top of the food chain in english football wether we like it or not, everything still revolves around United including television coverage, papers, Ferguson and what he has to say, success and failure it has been the way since the busby babes, just because I accept it does'nt mean it's a disgrace especialy if it's true, it's like an Evertonian saying Liverpool have been a bigger and better Club for the last 40 years, is he a disgrace too for saying that, dont think so.

Sorry Heggy but I have to disagree with you here! JC is only stating a fact here because Manure are the one of, if not the biggest club in the world! I wouldn't say that's disgraceful!!

In response to the total of the thread, I believe that's the exact order of priorities and regardless of our current status, to say we will NEVER achieve this again is downright ludicrous! Who jnows what will happen to the clubs ahead of us in the future? their owners could get jack of their clubs and sell to someone crap and they could go backwards just like we have. So to continuously aim for middle ground is just lowering our standards. Never say never because we can all hope and predicting the future us very difficult!

Very well said Aussie Red. Thats what I call a true supporter realistic but has aspiration. A club and fans without aspiration is nothing.

every fan has aspiration , tranmere fans might think they might be in the premier league one day , but being realistic its not going to happen , and unless the premier league become more even moneywise , liverpool wont win the league either , yes we all hope but because of the nature of the premier league it too much of a gap sadly .

yes thats quite true but like I have said in most of my threads for all those owners to jack it in as you say would mean the whole footballing landscape as we know changing which as we speak does'nt look like it will, even then are the big four clubs all going to have owners jacking it in at the same time, hardly think so so, we are for me never going to win the League again unless we get owners on the same footing as Abramovic and the City ones. I think you only have to look at City, they are currently building a new training complex which will put the 100 million pound Burton Abbey England Headquarters to shame which by the way is the best in the world at present, it will have hotels, accomadation and a main training pitch which will probably be nearly hold as many spectators as our current stadium by reports haha. Does this sound like a football Club whose owners are not in it for the long haul because it's certainly suggests to me that they are in it for a long, long, long time with the foundations they are building.

That assumes Arsenal, City, Utd, Chelsea will never hit bad times and it assumes we will never progress commercially from where we are.

Spot on Stan, if we are to listen to Joe the only thing we have to look forward to is mid-table anonymity and the odd cup run.

That isn't the attitude that made the club great and I think we are in a much better position than he would care to recognise.

Like you, I have a feeling that BR could lead us back to where we once where.

listen, it has nothing to do with how much you want your Club to do this and that it all depends on money and finance and we are no longer on the same playing field as the big four, you want it, I want it and we all want it but it's simply not going to happen realisticaly is it. Do you honestly think Fans of Everton or Leeds dont have fans who remember them being top dogs also and are desperate to get back to where they thing they should be too, football fans are all sentimental like that, it can keep us going at times but the problem is as much as we all want it, it will never happen.

We are far bigger than Everton or Leeds in turnover, sponsorship, global appeal, and potential. Silly analogy
