Joe Cool you are always telling us how rubbish we are and a complete lost cause.

Ok

You are in charge what would you do to put us back up there?

thats just it stanley, there is no manager who can put us back where we once where, it's the ifilstructure of the Club which needs putting right. I think the the golden chance we had of getting back to the top went went Mr David Moores decided to accept the extra 10 million quid from Hicks and Gillette instead of the offer from DIC, Once that went so did our only chance to go back to the top table which went with it. The only way Liverpool Football Club could ever compete again would be for the whole football landscape to change, which means no Chelsea with Abramovic and no City with these Arabs, we would then have to compete with the best run footballing Club on the planet which is Arsenal and then the biggest and arguably the best football Club in the world which is Manchester United for obvious reasons. I personaly think it's not going to happen as the owners we have have not shown any indication they are going to try and compete with Chelsea or City and in fact after this decision to tart up the old ground instead of a new stadium it send out a clear message they dont have suffiecent funds and are trying to do things on the cheap, this is why I feel we are also rans now and for the future or until somethin changes regarding these owners.

Whist as a fan I can concur with those who say it’s about winning trophies first and foremost however I find it hard to disagree with Aresne’s list you cannot ignore the commercial realities of modern football.

I know I will have Joe Cool on my back but I still see Liverpool as a top club albeit one in a difficult patch.

Commercially we have as much clout as any of them and if we were to improve and challenge for the top 4 again I feel our fortunes could change very rapidly.

For those reasons the 5 priorities above would be mine as a fan. In terms of Europa I would put that on a par with the FA Cup personally.

Would you agree?
well all very nice for arsenal , but the top 3 points dont apply to liverpool and havent and wont for a long time now sadly .

Until the Arsenal defeat in March this year, we were very much still in the race for a top 4 spot. So to say qualifying for the top 4 hasn't been a priority for us for a long time now, is a massive exaggeration.

Regardless of whether it's achievable this season, next season or the season after, it's still something the club should be aiming for. Personally, I don't think we'll achieve it this season, but I don't think it's as far out of reach as you're making out.

I think that statement is extremely harsh on David Moores. He didn't sell to the yanks for an extra few quid. He sold to them because he feared for the club under the ownership of DIC and he was (mis)lead to believe the yanks were genuine and had good intentions in mind for the club. Liverpool FC is in that man's blood. He's had a lot of unfair (and disgusting) criticism from some fans. If he could go back in time and not sell to H&G I'm sure he would in a flash.

Don't know who mislead him, but he did get more money, isn't it? That was probably an important factor. Whether he did it by mistake or not, history says he brought H&G to LFC.

I am no lover of Moores but he was under a legal obligation to shareholders to get the best for existing shareholders and price was a large part of that. But of course he was the majority shareholder but there was a reasonably minority shareholding too. I am not convinced FSG are fulfilling their part of the deal it was obvious Liverpool needed major investment and they are ducking that one for their own ends and milking the fans to extract profit ands risking none of their own capital.

yes I may be a bit harsh on David Moores, I do honestly think he had the best interests of the Club at heart and I know for a fact he does love and still love the Club, in fact I would rather he still be here now than this lot in now. The thing is for us on the outside, it does look like he accepted more money for the Club instead as he had the deal with DIC already in place, if you remember rightly Gillette tried to buy the Club first on his own but never had enough money so he went away and came back with a partner which was Hicks they then gazumped the DIC deal, well thats my take on it anyway.
