Even Fergie has had a bad half season (in the league I stress) in his carrer. Let's see how long it's going to take us to get the next trophy now, any trophy.

You are right Vish I stand corrected. Bring King Kenny back and put him in charge of the transfer budget I say.

I totally agree that we overpaid for his signings, and as much as I understand, Comolli was responsible to negotiate the prices. But seriously who you thought then was not going to improve our team. Andy Caroll was playing very well for Newcastle (it was also probably difficult to sign somebody else young with potential sell on value as requested by the owners, 10 mins before the closing of the transfer window), when Downing was signed how many fans said, at last we have signed a decent winger (Ashley Young who was the first choice went to Manure), Adam had a very good season for Blackpool and even Fergie (maybe it was a bluff) thought that his corners were worth 7m, Henderson though was relatively unknown but the under 21 Captain of England, again good probable sell on value. Craig B was a good buy.

Even with those players still finding their footing in a new team, KD had a decent 1st half of the season and we were still in the mix for 4th place having struck the post I don't know how many times and without SG. The second part of the season was bad in the league as I don't think we had a squad big enough to compete in 3 competitions. He has been sacked for his mistakes and I really hope that the replacement is better and we would improve over last year.

Some would say Hodgson but for me he does not even come close to King Kenny. Hodgson is now the england manager and doing a fair job of it. Kenny is working on talksport and playing golf and he will remain that way. Even a division 2 club would not look at him as manager it was absolute madness to appoint him even as interim. Club legend yes of course but manager not in a million years
Could not of put it better myself stan, me and you remember the so called King from his first spell where he knocked us off our perch, just a pity the Owners and quite a few fans on here never listened, this is the whole point I try to make about there being no sentiment in football, it's ruined our once great Club.

Sorry mate, I don't understand how he knocked us off our perch. As much as I can remember, we were still competing for honours and the top position in the season he left, isn't it? We still had a number of top class players including digger Barnes and a few young players who followed in the team just after, Fowler, McManaman etc. I was very unhappy when he left, but, he said he was burned out with the events and felt he could not give his best. Can you blame somebody for being exhausted and feeling he is not up to the job.
