I am not saying rush was not a great striker Faz but he played in probably the greatest ever Liverpool side and had arguably Liverpool's best ever playmaker providing for him. I think when he came back for the second time it was more realistic and he looked decent as opposed to world class. He also failed spectacularly at Juventus. I also believe it was Peter Robinson who signed him not kenny but thats my theory. For me Torres had more ability no stats will change that unless you had Torres also playing in that era tro compare with. I also think there is a general tendancy (as you are prone to this) to over estimate players of the past in relation to modern.

stan your not right mate if it was billy whitehurst playing with dalglish would he be as good i think not , david johnson, michael robinson, david hodgson, paul walsh all played with dalglish but not one of them was anywhere near rush , and i think he was pretty good second time around , ok not the rush of his first spell but still a top top world class striker .

pretty good second time around

I would agree with that but nothing like the first time. And he had a nightmare first 6 months after that he got a few goals. So yes pretty good would be my assessment. He was a great striker no doubt about that but Fowler, Torres were better in my opinion but I would put Rush above Owen and I am a big admirer of Owen.

Fowler scored four on his debut as an 18 year old

Fowler didn't score at all on his debut. In his first 'start' he scored 1 against Fulham in the league cup. Then he scored 5 in the return leg.

Good video. What a STRANGE choice of music though...

Rushie was a legend and a half.

I don't think they are comparable, they are different types of players. Rush was a finisher (lethal as you say) while Suarez creates more on his own, but, also converts less chances into goals. Rush is more comparable to Torres, Van Nistelroy, Van Persie, Shearer, Berbatov, typical strikers. Suarez is more comparable to Tevez, Aguero, Messi (though the gap is huge) who are also responsible to create.

Always difficult to compare players from different eras.

We were (are) lucky to have both.

Rushie made goalscoring look so simple whereas Suarez will skin players for run.

Rush played in one of the greatest Liverpool teams of all time whereas Suarez has at times carried the Liverpool forward threat on his own.

It's all about opinions but both top top players in my opinion.

SP would love to know how many kenny created for rushie cause didnt see many in that clip on utube rushie was devastating in front of goal a true legend him and fowler the greatest 2 strikers to grace the shirt but i would just go with rushie ahead of fowler only my opinion of course
