Rafa was great and i remember when he signed Lucas. Everybody wanted him out and criticized him but Rafa believed in him and look at Lucas now,his injury caused us the 4th place last season and everyone is calling for him to be the next captain. I still dont understand till this day why the new owners didnt hire Rafa. Call his style of play boring, but he won games and under Rafa, other teams feared us big time but now we are the laughing stock. We would not be in this position if he was our manager but what do i know when alot of people favor our new TIKI TAKA. Rafa came in and immediately made an impact. When will BR make his..when we are in the championship or what?? IN RAFA I TRUST

Rafa was great and he is one of my heros but I am happy with what I have seen so far from BR. I am also loving seeing him blood the kids. BR needs time...more than just this season...will he get it...I hope so.

Rafa was a tremendous manager and made a lot of great things happen at LFC. First and foremost the Academy of which we are now starting to reap the rewards of. I have to say he had a noose around his neck in the end because he lost his focus due to the lack of funds and the players that he wanted to take us to the next level but he could have handled himself better during those times. He managed to get an average team to win the Champions League and got us to another final, won us an FA Cup and also managed the team to the highest ever points tally in the clubs history. Yes he made mistakes as all managers do! It was time for him to leave and I thank him for what he did at LFC.

Rodgers however is changing things and is now pointing the club in the right direction which has been in decline since Rafa's departure. He is making shrewd investments in players who can play his system, which I believe is a great way forward, and utilising the talents that have come from the Academy by giving them a go. Yes he probably needs to give them a chance because he has no choice but they are at least getting a chance and many of them are stepping up to the plate.

I believe in Rodgers system and believe that we will once again be a force in the not too distant future.

must also remember he had more youngsters come and go from liverpool than anyone i can recall, some are bound to stick, most were rubbish. rafa was the child catcher.

Rafa will always be a hero to most Liverpool fans...what did you think of him when we lifted number 5?
He had his flaws like everyone else but he was quality or qualitaay as he used to say.

I'll tell you what he thought of him. EMP's name on here used to be "emperor rafa". that says it all doesn't it. EMP is like a dog with a bone, he won't change his mind on rafa because he's spent so long slating rafa.

Rafa was very good for the club and did many good things but in the end it was time for him to go. He seemed to run out of ideas and near the end was one of the most frustrating times Ive had as an LFC supporter. Thanks are due to rafa and best of luck to him in the future.

He convinced me that Liverpool was the club for me and after that I had to change my plans. I was going to come to Liverpool."

Sterling

Sterling was signed in February 2010 by Rafa Benítez for an initial fee of £600,000, but this could rise to £5 million depending on how many appearances he makes for the first-team.

Shelvey

Liverpool have signed the 18-year-old from Charlton in a £1.7 million deal. Shelvey holds the record as Charlton's youngest ever player, having made his debut in April 2008 at the age of 16 years and 59 days. The England youth international has scored eight goals in 48 games for the League One club.
Having already signed QPR's Raheem Sterling, aged 15, earlier this season, Benitez said he has a number of other young, British players lined up to sign in the near future.
