I can't understand how they can criticise him in the main for his time at the club. Yes, he made mistakes but all managers do and his positives vastly outweigh the negatives. I think he has a genuine affinity for the City of Liverpool and the club and wants to manage here but his actions have sometimes come across as placing a millstone around an incumbent managers neck which probably hasn't helped his case with those willing to besmirch him

Rubbish,we could be on course for our second relegation battle in 3 seasons since he has been gone....now thats REAL excitement!!!!Pffftt he can keep his big european nights,record points tallies and clean sheets.I am much happier with the club now.

I suppose the point of this thread is to have a huge debate between those who think Rafa was great and those who think he was crap, so pointless to me. Unless of course LFC is looking for a good chief scout.

i couldn't stand him

makes my skin crawl all this hero worshipping and constant excuses for his failures. whats worse is his constant comments on liverpool since, managers don't do that or shouldn't do that.

must also remember he had more youngsters come and go from liverpool than anyone i can recall, some are bound to stick,most were rubbish. rafa was the child catcher.

And what excuses are there for his success?

see i don't go looking for excuses for his success. rather just leave things in the past. but if i did, i would say he took over a club already in the champs league, miracled a champs league win and an fa-cup final win both on peno's when his tactics proved wrong and negative and gerrard saved his ass again. he had some success but he should have had loads more,but he himself stopped it..he got in the way of all the good things that should have come with a spanish title winning manager comeing to our club. we could have played ball like arsenal and left a proper legacy but he messed everything around,crap boring tactics and weirdness left the club in a horrible state .

Rafa will always be a hero to most Liverpool fans...what did you think of him when we lifted number 5?
He had his flaws like everyone else but he was quality or qualitaay as he used to say.
