Who mentioned everton? Oneil always builds teams that are a bas#ard to beat and I think Villa will be a better outfit under Lambert, two teams that I think will cause us more problems....on the subject though what have we done this summer? [oops] off Swansea by breaking a promise to them and unsettled their players, and our best players constantly been linked to other clubs,oh and we signed another player who I have never heard of.

But yet Swansea are probably going to sell. They can't be too annoyed. Plus, what makes you think Villa will do better than us, we have better players Rodgers did better than him last season, and he's now got a better squad than him. You would expect him to do better. Plus orders did better than Sunderland last season.

what we need to find is that bit more quality we have got players to play 442 but not 433 gerrard needs to be played further forward as much as hes not looked bad this last 12 months hes been played as a holding player lucas is back that is massive for us if br can get downing playing to the ability that he can play we might do ok suarez to play and hoping carrol stays and continues his form from the end of last season we might be challenging for the top 4 who knows.

I agree rafa and honestly speaking, its not going to be that hard to out do last season, it was a very terrible one and the team can easily finish better so lets hope the fans can give him time. If there is no improvement at all then I can understand the frustrations.

I know just because we have a new manager does not mean we will improve. But nor does it mean we will not improve. FSG clearly saw the failings in the last manager and through a carefull and unhurried recruitment process sought the man they believed could take the club forward. Your position longmoorlane is that it is ordained we will never improve. I think we will simply because we have to. At stake is the future of the club and the hundreds of millions Henry staked on the club.

I dont think it is a case that we have to, does'nt every Club in the League have to then if you are basing it on that, there are no guarantees we will improve, we are just hoping and as we all know hope and reality are two entirely different things. I like Brendan Rogers, I really hope he can turn the Club around but it's highly unlikely because football at the top end is dominated by money and money is just what we dont have when we are trying to compete against bigger Clubs at the top end. I really dont think FSG knew what thye were taking on when they bought the Club as in the amount of money which is needed to compete at the top end, dont forget we needed a new stadium also on top of that, I think they are opportunists and seen the chance to buy a famous old football club at a knock down price and being business men bought it, knowing that they could always sell it and get there money back if they required probably at a profit.

The giving him time thing is not really a problem, as long as we see some improvement. If in the first half of the season we have midtable form, and then in the second half we have top 6 form and play better football, then he'll get another season. If it is clear it is getting worse and worse over the year, as it did under Dalglish, then yo can understand people not giving him more time.

fair enough, but many are already on the managers back even before he works with a full fit team, or completes his signings, or even starts the PL season confused

that is a new record for any football fans frown
