if liverpool do well in the cups again and win well more at home which is the No1 priority in my opinion liverpool will do ok league wise and it would make a very decent first season for brendan .
a couple of defeats in the first six games and the crowd will be singing for Benitez or Dalglish, just you watch.
-1. While I can't speak for you, I suspect that the vast majority of LFC fans appreciate that this season is about changing our style in order to compete further down the line with a better system at our disposal. That kind of thing doesn't come overnight, and anyone disagreeing is a fool.
As for the OP, in terms of results I would far prefer to play 2 of City, United, and the gunners away at this time - those are games we could lose without any loss of confidence in the squad. All 3 at home puts us under a lot of pressure later in the season, because any loss here represents the threat of being on the wrong end of a double.
But let's not forget that these teams are also at the start of their seasons, and one hopes that Anfield will be alive rather than the tomb it became last season. Realistically though, more than 5 points from these 5 fixtures would represent a good start, even if the majority of them come from the 2 away fixtures.
