Good pop at Ireland again why cant we have a pop at rival teams, it's a forum, if you cant laugh at a p!ss poor rival when they get hammered when can you laugh at one, dont understand what all the fuss is about, it's an english forum afterall. I agree... But in relation to arrogance, the English are unsurpassed in football. Sure in 1949 Ireland were the first international team to beat England at home in England, yet most of you still say it was Hungary. This can only be because you are arrogant due to a fear of admitting inferiority in any capacity at anytime...Ireland also beat you in the most recent game played in Ireland but the England supporters were sore losers and rioted which cancelled the game. tut, tut! Whose really bothered about results from years ago, all that matters is now and the Ireland team is a p*ss poor outfit, an embarrassment and have been quite rightly labeled the worst team in the competition, watching there fans crying into there beer was like watching the United fans after City had just pipped them for the League, funny, like I say if you cant gloat on an English teams football forum when a rival football nation gets beat when can you. I didn't see any Irish fans crying into their beers. Quite the opposite actually. If you watched any of Ireland's matches in the tournament then you must have been watching with the tv muted, because we've had the best support out of all the teams in the competition, and that's something that makes me proud. Certainly not embarrassed. Far from it. I'm a tad embarrassed for you, to be honest.

This is just it fazakerley, if England was to get beat and you went on to an Irish, Scottish or Welsh team forum they would be lapping it up. I honestly dont understand what all the fuss is about, this is an English forum because it's about an English team not Irish, Scottish or Welsh but English so when a rival gets beat you laugh, gloat or celebrate, its what happens within football banter, whats next United get knocked out of the Champions League next season, we laugh at them and people come on here and complain, absolute joke. If people dont like it or are touchy then maybe they should stay off the forum until the Internationals are over or something, I never thought the Irish footie fans were so touchy. Okay, so the thread was made by an English user, about England, yet YOU'RE the one who brought Ireland into it. Why? And then you go on to say this forum is all about England and not Ireland. Yet you brought Ireland into it. Have a word with yourself.

i dont know why the irish get so touch , they were a total embarrassment a very poor team if england were that bad the stick that would be given out , look at the stick roy hodgson got when he took the england squad over and he has done really well and the liverpool lads have done great as well , but ireland were utterly dire yes a tough group buta very poor team very poor . I'm not embarrassed by our team. We were very poor in the competition. Disappointing. To be fair, that same team qualified for the competition. They earned the right to play amongst Europe's elite. For a "p!sspoor team", that in itself is a massive achievement. We're a bit more realistic about our expectations, so we're more accepting and appreciative about what we get from them, and I'm proud of them regardless of how they got on against 3 of the top teams in Europe.

Faz, Roy Keane was one of the best players this country ever produced, but he's an absolute disgrace and will always be tainted in my eyes and the eyes of many others. He was never 100% dedicated to the cause. I don't speak for everyone in Ireland but the majority of people would be of that opinion.
I think the massive deflection onto the failings of the Irish team in the tournament is a quite apt turn of events considering the thread subject.
I was in Spain for most of the tournament so far and I watched the Ireland matches with Irish, English and Spanish people and then came back the next day to cheer on England with the same people. Liverpool have over a quarter of the England squad, so it'd be a bit silly for me to NOT support them.
Most of the English people I've spoken to have been incredibly decent folk. Can't say the same about a couple of people on this thread, unfortunately.

I think it's been more like delusions of grandeur in the past with England for some reason, personally the last time I thought we'd actually win anything was in 1990 but ever since then I think we've learnt to except how average we really are.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

no one is getting touchy about ireland being [oops]. we know we were [oops], no one is saying any different. the issue here is some people are trying to turn a liverpool forum into some kind of nationalist rally. its not on and will not be tolerated. Listen if you want to turn this topic into some sort of national debate then thats up to you, my comments are all about how poor and embarrassing the Irish football team is nothing more nothing less, if it's a Liverpool forum like you said why are people on here talking about International Football, my comments are all regarding the International football side of things, I never started this topic I am just commenting on it, the problem is there are fans on here who cant handle the truth that there International team is sh*t. actually it wasnt me who said it was a liverpool forum so do your research. if you want to have a go at a minnow team then be my guest but in my opinion people who do that are the same kind of people who laugh when dogs get hit by cars etc etc. so basically i think your opinion is a joke and youre a bad wind up merchant. oh and let me guess, if england do well you'll be all up the teams arse but if they dont you'll say you were never interested in the first place and find some way to blame modern day fans and over paid players. why dont you show some back bone for christ sake, and a little class while youre at it. Yawwwwwwwwwnnnnnn, boring...

not as boring as an anti irish agenda. it would seem you are in fact puzzled by irish fans and our ability to still support our team even when things go our way. i understand its difficult for you taking into account your bitterness with everything.
