As I wrote earlier, Rafa IS making steady progress, season after season - THIS is what we need to look at, what else makes sense?

comparing us with arsenal is pointless - their wage bill is far higher than ours so they have had to rein in transfer spending accordingly but they do have more money than us ...... but for all that we have moved ahead of them so why do you want to compare us to them? especially to use them as an illustration that rafa should go!! surely that shows how well rafa is doing? he is spending the same as arsenal on transfers yet we are ahead of them in the league - seems to me thats an argument in favour of keeping him

Is he though? Say we give him another 4 years... That means we won't have the likes of Gerrard, Carra, Alonso etc and will need to either hope the kids make it or spend a shedload to replace them as they'll be too old. We should be playing much better football with the players we have NOW! We have thrown away all the points we need this year to be at least 7 in front of UTD, they have walked to the top of the league while faltered when we should have prospered. What's the use in beating UTD and Chelsea when you throw a stupid curve ball against crap and underestimate them by tinkering and resting players?

arsenal best full backs ???? yeah full backs that can't defend brilliant .. i think van persie has flashes of brilliance but he is sooo in consisted rosicky is pretty average and they don't have a squad at all they have lost ONE player and they are fighting with villa just to be in the CL next year... when i'm sure with have been without torres 3 or 4 times this season for about 15 games put together and we're second, rafa is twice the manager wenger is now and we are a much better team and we are as good as chelsea now and most of our better players have a good few years left in them (gerrard, torres, reina, skrtel, agger, insua, mascherano, alonso) now we can all agree that, thats a one of the best spines of a team in europe because they are all good players now (torres, alonso, gerrard WORLD CLASS ) and mascherano, agger are both brilliant as well so i don't see what the big panic is all about to be honest a good young team that will only improve with rafa at the helm

There is no doubt that Rafa has made progress in his time in charge. We have had a sticky spell since the turn of the year. In the same period MU have gone on an unbelievable run and credit must be given to them for that. If we get rid of Benitez who do we replace him with? Roy Keane? Tony adams? Gordon Strachan? There is not one quality manager who would be willing to walk into the current political minefield that exists at Anfield. Bear in mind also that if Rafa goes, who else will follow him? i could see a lot of the spanish contingent unhappy to loose the manager. Imagine a new unproven manager coming in to take over with the yanks still squabbling and burdening the club with debt, unwilling to release funds to buy players and us minus Reina, Torres and Alonso. Would we challenge in February next season do you think?

Rafa has bought some planks but we've also missed out on some real quality players because the powers that be refused to give the manager funds. Remember Nemanja Vidic was taken from under our noses as the board wouldn't release the funds. Rafa is getting the job done. He is the best manager to take the club forward from here. We have lost 1 premiership game this season. He will improve on our home form next year. I'm sure there is no one more aware of his flaws than Rafa. He will work on them and improve - just like he has done every season he's been here. He loves the club, the city and the people. The least he deserves right now is a bit of loyalty from all of us and our support to boot.

Anyone who says Benitez has to go is crazy!! If somebody had of said to you at the start of the season we would still be challenging for the title in February you would have taken theat for sure. Eventhough we have slipped up at home we are in a much better position than anyone would have thought we would have been in at this stage of the season. Crues1, think before you you speak!!!!

The club needs investment in order to make the move up to the next crucial level - the yanks cannot provide it and that is not Rafa's fault.

Excellent post fully agree with everything you have said

Bookies have stopped taking bet on Raffa to leave Liverpool at the end of the season...

Frustrating...

Kenny Dalglish has been installed as favourite to take over ...... not so sure how i feel about that .... i mean yes he did fantastically well first time around but that was with a lot of help from Sir Bob and it was a long long time ago ...... i would prefer Rafa to stay all things considered
