Liverpool have no chance of 4th with any manager you care to mention so I dont understand people saying we must finish 4th, get real it just aint gonna happen.

soon as they got rid of kd they were forced to roll the dice, martinez seems intelligent enough, and have to start somewhere. I'd prefer a young enthusiastic manager to an old fàrt like RH. The only thing i'd qestion on him is does he have the charisma and the clout for a 'big team'. Otherwise i don't have a problem with it. I would still prefer rodgers personally.. Martinez would be my 5th choice behind the dutch fella, KD (3rd coming), Rafa, Brendan Rogers... But i have to say we are not destined for relegation because martinez didnt win the champions league with wigan. I just find fsg seem to be very knee jerk reaction seeing as they said they were going to listen to fans etc etc I'd like to know which bunch of halfwits were in this 'think tank'. FSG announced they would cast the net far and wide and would patiently carry out a thorough selection process working in conjunction with some pre-eminent football advisors. If that is all true, how on god's green earth did mr martinez get offered the job??!! Insanity of the highest order.

Why is everyone so melodramatic? If Martinez (if he were hired) was awful - he'd be sacked at xmas. If he has a poor year - he'll be sacked next summer. It would ruin our season yes - but ruin the club forever? Hardly! Chelsea bounced back after AVB quickly - as did Sunderland (somewhat) after sacking their manager. Liverpool will survive and there is no end of the world rhetoric necessary in this discussion. But if we are to entertain the negative possibilities then we have to be fair and consider that he might be a breath of fresh air - say like Pardew at Newcastle. if he's sacked by xmas, that means we're in the bottom half of the table, and with very little chance of getting top 4 for another season. That's something we can't afford. We need top 4 this year. It's been too long without champions league football. Plus if that happens, it also means that we'll be back in exactly the same situation, but havign wasted an entire year. If we get top 4 next season RM will have performed a major miracle. If we assume he has a budget of £30m his target should be 6th. The manchesters will occupy 1st & 2nd leaving 2 positions up for grabs. Competing for those places will be spurs, chelsea, arsenal & newcastle so we'll have to outperform 3 of those 4, and i don't think £30m and RM will be anyhere near enough ammo. We should finsh above everton though and must strive to get back above newcastle. I'd settle for that. Spot on Carhee.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

why are the likes of tony evans (the times) even our own leader dunk plus loads on here and other media outlets , not willing to give say for argument roberto martinez a chance ? , i have already heard that in the first home game what ever the result certain people who say they are kop season ticket holders want to start the chants for benitez and or dalglish to return , for me this is now turning into anarchy and it will be just so unbelievable if it is to be martinez unlike what happened to roy hodgson who wasnt welcomed , i would like to think if it is martinez he is given a massive chance and welcomed . Ian Ayre- "we will be getting a top class manager" Roberto Martinez -Relegation fodder go figure.

Pot kettle.... yes i was because of the dire league form after millions wasted , and i did say loads of time he should never have come back to long out the game which was correct he was to old school sadly i know people choose to forget 6 home wins all season worse record since 1954 but millions spent to do , any manager would deserve the sack after that sort of dire record , but many want martinez out and he isnt even manager yet and the predictions of the end of liverpool football club because martinez is some sort of destructor sent by the devil .

Toxic Destructor from hell
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.
