Frankly, I'd be more than happy to partner Barry and Lucas in midfield right now. Miles ahead of anyone else we have. I'm curious though, during the season everyone was screaming for 2 up front and now most of those same people want Rafa back? If he does return won't we see the 4-2-3-1 that he loves so much once more? Honestly, if we can get the personnel I'd be more than happy to see it return but we need a bit of work. It's different when you have midield players running into the box in support of the striker though. You see under Kenny we were really lacking the runs from midfield into the box...hence the need for 2 front men, under Rafa the midfield was making those runs into the box and hence Gerrards goal scoring record under Rafa...:D So , you see it's all very debatable.

I think we dodged a bullet with O'Neill as it has turned out because overall he has not improved Sunderland. I am also surprised that someone like David Platt or Stuart Pearce is getting a mention based on knowledge of English game and young players all over Europe.

I think the fans are divided on Rafa and rightly so. Even the rafa fans are cautious that it may not work out and we will have another former manager failure like Kenny. I would love him to return but I would also love to move on with a new regime, a new direction that will hopefully bring success back to our club.

If we want someone who we 'know' will bring us champions league football this season, it's got to be Rafa. Back him with a decent kitty and he will definitely get us back in that top 4 pile.
Martinez is too much of a gamble right now, I'd like to see him go to a mid table club (maybe Villa) first.
Klopp would be fantastic as a long term manager, just look at what he has done with what was a very average Borussia Dortmund. They're playing incredible football and rightly winning titles with arguably lesser players than that of Bayern Munich. Question is, would he leave Dortmund to join us? & if so, how long would he take to settle into the English dynamic?
