Kenny did what most managers would have done last night. The fans went to the game knowing that many of the main stars would be rested... and they support the club no matter who plays.
To answer CarheeX's sniping... the team Kenny put out last night was full of internationals and experienced players. We had a world cup finalist, a seasoned Argentine international, a Brazilian international, and quite a few players that have featured in the first team this year. It should have handled Fulham at home.
But it's a risk and Kenny will have to win the FA cup to justify it... or he'll get slaughtered.
Come to think of it... on this site he'll get slaughtered no matter what...
Yeah but the fans didnt' buy their season tickets expecting this drivel in April/May.
Kenny deserves to be slaughtered, no matter how you spin it.
I think you'll find thousand of fans chanting his name at wembley Mate... no matter that half this board are constantly sharpening the knives. The league form is dire and will be addressed... but winning cups is a good thing no matter what the doomsayers and sh1tsmearers say!
Winning cups is better than not winning cups, I agree. Being in the top half of the table is better than the being in the bottom half aswell...but scraping a top half finish and winning one or 2 domestic cups won't really do much to help the club. It might give you something to boast about for a week or 2 between rival fans but that's about it.
The only reason that people discard the idea of our cup wins is because some posters try to use the trophies as a way to pretend we are progressing.
I said before, trophies are the cherry on the cake and not much to celebrate on their own - but we have no cake - just a cherry, and a mouldy one at that which the big clubs didn't want.
